Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Clarabut.
Ashley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Our business began as an idea between the two guys. One has been BBQing for over 30 years and one has been in the restaurant industry for 12 years. My youngest brother asked them to cook for his wedding three years ago and on the way home the idea for 2 Guys 1 Pit was born. We love being able to add that personal family touch to every event.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any small business, we’ve had our ups and downs. We have made our way without taking out any business loans and while also holding down our own full-time jobs to fund our catering business.
Please tell us about 2 Guys 1 Pit BBQ and Catering.
We are known for great BBQ and amazing customer service. Since we are family owned, we bring you into our family when we accept a catering job. Everyone goes crazy for our amazing baked potato salad and our brisket. We have been named best of catering by the Knot for 2019, named the best caterer by the Houston Bridal Extravaganza for 2018 and we have nothing but 5-star reviews from all of our past clients. We strive for amazing customer service from start to finish. One thing our clients really enjoy is coming to our home for tastings. It gives it a more personal touch. And in 2019, we will be opening our restaurant which we are very proud of.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory is spending time with my family. I’ve always been very involved with my family which is how I knew I always wanted to have my own family.
