Meet Ashley Johnson of AX-N-JAX TV

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Johnson.

Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My journey began after I had my second son. I was working long hours and on top of that, my off days were Thursdays and Saturdays. So I decided to dedicate my Thursdays solely to Axl and Jaxon. During this time, I realized how afraid I was to travel to different places with two toddlers and also how expensive it could be with multiple kids. That quickly changed after my first trip. I felt so proud of myself, the event was free and I didn’t lose a kid. So I kept it going. I began taking them to the different parks (indoor/outdoor) and local events around the area. I got so much positive feedback, I created them a Facebook and Instagram page to showcase the free events and beautiful parks I took them to. Then one day, I made a video and posted it to their page and got some great feedback. Something right then and there just clicked. So from then on, I started making more videos from our park visits and our cooking adventures, which eventually led to me creating the boys a YouTube channel.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This YouTube thing has definitely not been a smooth road. 1st I don’t have an actual camera. Every video I have created has been made with my S9. I’ve tried every app there is to get my videos as clear as possible using my cell phone, and as you can imagine it’s been a struggle. 2nd I accidentally deleted their Instagram page and had to start over after reaching 2000 plus followers. 3rd going through a separation and relocating to Houston after eight years in Dallas, Texas.

Please tell us about AX-N-JAX TV.
I created this channel to show moms you don’t have to be afraid to go out when you have more then one kid and also it doesn’t have to break your pockets. I create content, edit video footage and manage my kid’s social media sites. I’m most proud of my finished products and being able to gain 900 subscribers in a short amount of time. No matter how many views or subscribers I receive, it’s seeing my boys face light up when they see themselves on TV or someone’s phone that warms my heart. Not only do I get to motivate moms, but I’m creating memories with my rugrats. What sets our channel apart from others is Axl and Jaxon. Their personalities shine through in each video and they know what’s going on since we’ve been doing it for months now and nothing is ever forced. They love the camera, just like mommy.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My ambition, my courage, willpower, Integrity, Drive, Patience, Optimism, and Resilience are all important to my success. When I learned how to motivate myself, my creative juices started moving and I can’t be more happy with the outcome.
