Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Kelsch.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ashley. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve spent the last 10 years running my small business Teddies for Bettys, a high-end bra fitting and lingerie shop in Austin, Tx. During that time, I found myself mostly in the dressing room listening to women share their most intimate secrets and stories about themselves and realized that even though I loved educating women on their bra size, I was even more passionate about these conversations and connections that were being made. I began sharing their stories anonymously on my social media and my following lit up. Grateful to know they weren’t alone, everyone began to share. This is how Dressing Room Confessions, An Intimate Conversation came to be; a platform discussing life’s details; our relationships, careers, parenting, losses, fantasies, struggles, drugs working out, health, childhood- you name it- and how we’ve navigated our way through it, shared in an open, safe, non judgmental space. Currently, I am in the stages of launching my podcast + website with future plans of workshops and retreats so women can engage face to face. The Dressing Room Confessions virtual book club launched last month and is nearing the end of our first read.
In addition, I recently launched Modern Renegades, a consulting + coaching business for women who question where they are in life and how to create the life they want through self-awareness, mental fitness, and accountability.
Has it been a smooth road?
Most definitely not, but that’s how it goes… and exactly why I got into consulting and coaching. My mindset has been my biggest obstacle! Regardless, if it’s work or personal, I can easily get in my own way by self-sabotaging, self-doubt or paralysis by analysis.
Each day, I do the same work on myself that I suggest to my clients. And it’s work! Knowing that the growing a business isn’t about the end goal, but the by-product of all that happens along the way is key.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Modern Renegades Consulting & Dressing Room Confessions – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Without sounding egotistical, I am what sets my business apart from others. It was this way at my lingerie shop, Teddies for Bettys and continues to be in regards to my coaching. I specialize in holding space where people feel comfortable and not judged – I’m a very open individual who has experienced a life that has encouraged me to stay curious with a desire to keep seeking. I genuinely want to know about you and what you’ve been through; I believe this is how we connect and grow. I myself am very open and willing to share my experiences; both good and bad regardless of the opinions others may have.
Had it not been for the years spent with women in the dressing rooms, I don’t believe I ever would have tapped into it! My community of customers and the women that surrounded me over the years built me up and supported me in a way that made me aware of what I was capable of.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
