Meet Ashley Kraft of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Kraft.

Hi Ashley , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey into doula work began shortly after the birth of my second son. One afternoon at the park, I met another mom who shared that she had once been a doula. Prior to this, I had no idea what a doula was or about the work they do. That one conversation sparked something in me. The more I learned about the role of a doula, the more I realized it beautifully combined two things that have always been close to my heart: my love for babies and my desire to care for and encourage women as they become mothers. After reflecting on my own birth and postpartum experiences, I realized that while I had an excellent support system, I would have benefitted immensely from having a doula. My desire to help other moms have supported births and postpartum experiences is what ultimately led me to pursue the work I now feel so blessed to do. After certifying as a postpartum doula, I began working towards my birth doula certification. In early 2025, I launched my business, Beautiful Miracles Doula Services and have been blessed to serve the North Houston community.

Today, I have the honor of supporting families during labor, birth, and the postpartum period with compassionate, evidence-based care. As a Certified Birth & Postpartum doula, I am also continually expanding my education through advanced doula training because I believe learning never stops. Every family deserves a doula who is committed to growing, refining her skills, and providing the highest level of care possible.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road is never smooth when you’re chasing your dreams, but I am very blessed to have an amazing husband, family and doula community who has supported me through every step of my doula journey. Whether that’s my husband watching over our young children while I take time off to study, or my doula friends answering all my questions, it’s because of my great support system that I am able to do this work.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, I have the honor of supporting moms and families during labor, birth, and the postpartum period. My goal is simple: to help moms and families feel calm, confident, informed, and deeply supported. Whether I’m offering hands-on comfort during labor, helping parents navigate the early days with their newborn, or simply providing a reassuring presence, I am here to walk alongside all the moms and families I have the honor of supporting.

I believe every birth story is unique, and every family deserves care that reflects their individual values, goals, and needs. I work alongside my client’s healthcare team to provide emotional, physical, and informational support while honoring their choices and creating a space where they feel heard, respected, and empowered.

As a Christian, my faith is the foundation of how I serve. I believe every baby is a beautiful miracle, and that every mother deserves compassionate care. It is an incredible honor to walk beside families as they welcome new life into the world

When I’m not serving clients, you’ll usually find me making memories with my family, enjoying a fresh cup of coffee, or winding down with my husband while we watch our favorite shows. Those simple moments remind me just how important it is for parents to feel cared for, supported, and able to truly enjoy this precious season.
