Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Willis.
Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up, I struggled with self-esteem and self-worth being a female in society. Constantly being told I wasn’t good enough and my dreams would never become a reality. Four years ago, I started a makeup business because I wanted to mentor women on a journey to restore themselves with self-love that would help empower them. Makeup has always been a passion of mine that helped inspire me to become a woman with confidence, bravery, belief in myself and allowed me to express who I am through my art which recently leads me into becoming a multi-published model and motivational speaker.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest struggle of this journey was allowing myself to be completely open vulnerably and honestly by expressing my life long experiences with mental illness and drug addiction publicly using art through my makeup and modeling. I aimed to use my talents solely to make an impact on someone’s life.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
As a freelance makeup artist, I specialize in bridal, glamour and creative makeup art. I allow my clients to freely choose how they want to express themselves with their own true envision using my passion to bring it to life. As a multi-published model, I thrive to inspire anyone to have the courage to step into what they’re meant to be despite any negative challenges and experiences they may face along the way. You owe it to yourself to be whoever you want to be and live a life you will be proud of.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
