Ashlyn and Jennifer, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Our journey began when we met in an advertising class held at the University of Houston in Sugar Land. We were two aspiring professionals from completely different backgrounds with a growing admiration for the world of communication. After working together on a project we thought, “Wouldn’t we make a great team one day?!”
Soon after, the opportunity arose to be part of a student-run agency at the UH main campus. We jumped at the chance and became founding members of Valenti Integrated, one of the first student-run integrated agencies in Texas. Since starting in 2016, VI has continued to thrive and has been recognized for its success.
After graduating from the University of Houston, we pursued individual job opportunities, but the idea of starting on our own agency remained. While working full-time jobs, we decided to dip our toes in the water by helping a few local small businesses. Post taking on these small clients, we knew we wanted to offer our services to the community.
Jolt Digital Agency was born on June 20, 2018. We took a leap of faith and committed ourselves entirely to working on Jolt. Today, we are seeing growth exponentially, and are optimistic about the future.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Our road has been as smooth as chunky peanut butter! Our struggles came a many, but if we had to choose one, it would be gaining the confidence to fully dive into focusing on our business. “The uncertain is always scary but having each other as support has made getting on this rollercoaster ride more manageable.”
Please tell us about Jolt Digital Agency.
Jolt is comprised of two experienced digital marketing professionals looking to #JoltForward the presence of small businesses. Our digital services include social media management, digital advertising and design, market research and strategy, and public relations.
We take pride and enjoy developing integrated strategies that are executed ethically with authentic communication in collaboration with our clients.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We would have started sooner! After going through the process of launching our business, we learned that there is never a perfect time to get started. It is best to just hit the ground running and learn along the way!
