Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Brione Beck.
Asia Brione, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The Pole Experience Pole Dance Studio was originally The Art of Movement Dance Academy offering dance education (i.e. ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop) to children, ages 3-18 years old. I opened The Art of Movement in February of 2014, servicing young ladies from communities surrounding Greater Houston. I was a 24-year-old, ambitious woman with a 15-year dance education background, and a passion for entrepreneurship. I worked endless hours dedicated to the growth of my business, within the first year I’d reached an enrollment of over 100 students!
In May of 2015, my younger sister, my mother and I took a “Girls Trip” to Las Vegas! We went to a pole show while visiting and I absolutely fell in love. I’d never gotten on a pole a day in my life but to see the art of dance combined with the strength of pole work, I was completely amazed! I get back to my hotel and with zero hesitation I purchased my first set of dance poles. They were portable/adjustable poles, therefore, once the children attending The Art of Movement Dance Academy left dance class scheduled from 4pm-8pm, hired instructors would literally come in, install and adjust and secure the dance poles and instruct pole dance courses to adults ages 18 and up. I was running two business on one dance floor! Yes, I was very overwhelmed but I managed. I lead The Art of Movement Dance Academy into two dance recital productions and continued growth within the City of Houston, yet running two business with two totally different aspects became very stressful and I made the decision to officially end courses with The Art of Movement Dance Academy as of July 2016.
I had a successful 2 years with The Art of Movement but The Pole Experience was in the lead when it came to customer growth, profit, and retention. I hit the ground running in August 2016 with The Pole Experience Pole Dance Studio solely running and operating alone! This is actually my first time telling this story, and to see how everything unfolded for me and the company is a very appreciative moment for me. Life as an entrepreneur has its ups and downs, you never know going a business where you might end up but that’s the risk we take each day working towards a dream. Entrepreneurship has taught me to deal with the good and bad days, ups and downs, and conquering everyday obstacles in business, but I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything in the world. With the great help of my family and hard work and dedication, The Pole Experience has been successfully operating now for 2 years with a daily growth in sales and customer retention.
Here at The Pole Experience we thrive on great customer service and focusing on our customer needs. The Pole Experience Pole Dance Studio team members have experienced pole instructors with a passion for their art. The Pole Experience has the potential to be the best pole fitness studio worldwide and that’s what we’re working towards.
Has it been a smooth road?
There were plenty of struggles! The roads I’ve had to travel have been everything but smooth. Being so very young, working full time, and running a business could possibly be the hardest things I’ve had to do. One thing that The Pole Experience taught me was patience and faith. Of course, as a business owner, you want every day to run smoothly, you want every day to be profitable, yet realistically, those days won’t be everyday. A lot of days I’ve wanted to completely pull out my hair but I made it. I made it to the next day with persistence and hating the thought of failure. It was expected of me to fail due to my age, my race, my gender, my location, etc, and that’s what keeps me going each day.

The Pole Experience Pole Dance Studio offers weekly pole dance instruction courses Monday through Saturday. Our courses provide a routine workout regimen for our members. The Pole Experience offers memberships starting at as low as $55.99 per month. The Pole Experience Pole Dance Studio is widely known for our amazing poles parties/event! We offer pole parties for every occasion, birthday, bachelorette, girls night, even divorce! We aim to assure that the experience is one in a lifetime! The Pole Experience is growing daily in numbers and I truly believe its because we offer a professional and customer friendly service, that’s what I’m most proud of and that’s what sets us apart!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Houston is the perfect city for my business. Houston is one of the largest cities in the U.S with a wide variety of culture. The Pole Experience has had customers travel to Houston and mention that it was a must that they drop in for a class or schedule a pole party during their stay here in Houston. I believe that I couldn’t have picked a better city! With Superbowl LI being in Houston in February 2017, that brought the city a lot of extra attention also improving business. Southern Hospitality mixed with a Pole Experience, now that’s what you call a good time in TEXAS!
