Meet Aubren Hinmon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aubren Hinmon.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Aubren. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Music is a major part of my life and always has been. I’ve been writing poetry and writing songs since I was a kid. As I grew up, I had great mentors who taught me how to market myself. As I went to college for Mass communitcations, I learned the art of propaganda. Thats when I started taking my craft more serious. I started a clothing line that is still in the works. I started to tamper into other genres of music; anything that would help broaden my clientele and fan base. After a ten city tour, SXSW, countless conventions, and two albums released, Im finally at a place where I’m starting to see the benefits of not giving up on my dreams. I now have learned to trade of digital streaming and monetization, and praying that I can use these resources to my advantage for y brand and company.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a road that has a 30 MPH speed limit and speed bumps. The music and media industry is the most sporadic business out there. It’s hard to get into and it’s hard to get out of. You have to be fully committed. From fake promotion to janky business deals. You have to know people who know people in order not to get taken advantage of in this business.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am first off a musical artist. I make Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, Pop, and many more genres of music. I have always inspired to be the jack of all trades, and an artist of multiple genres. I also have a clothing line which is named after my brand. “CML”. I am the only artist underneath a small indie label based out of New Orleans called “Campaign Amerika”. The CEO of this brand, Sean Gipson, is my musical mentor, and life coach. He also produces Hip-Hop/ R&B beats, offers audio engineering services, offers videography services, and is also an inspiring artist as well! I also offer audio engineering services, I will also am a songwriter for artist who needs hit singles wrote for them. Me and brother also offer self defense, and M.M.A./boxing training for local people of the Houston area.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
It’s going to be completely digitalized. Everything is going to be computer-based. So I advise young business owners to become computer and internet savvy.
