Today we’d like to introduce you to Ava Mickhail
Hi Ava, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started when I was offered an opportunity to intern for high-end fashion shows all over Houston like SAKS and Neiman’s. At that point I was discovered by Omar, the former producer/ owner of Runway Houston, who later brought me onto his team as a backstage manager. He later got me a position as a fashion booker. I later parted ways with the company that I worked for. However, the models and the clients did not part ways from me. Autumn was one of my models who believed in me and did not want me to stop booking her. Which inspired us into starting Vibe Models Agency. With that we had clients reach out to us from San Antonio, Houston, Corpus, and Louisiana. It started growing quickly. Autumn was constantly booking and it was time for us to bring more models in. I also started receiving requests for Sarah Walla. Sarah also believed in me and when she came to Vibe Models, she also brought her own set of clients with her. We are currently published in various magazines, have been on different news platforms, fashion shows and published shoots. I never expected to start a modeling agency, however I could not do it without my models, make up artists, and photographers.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There is always dead seasons in fashion, however we try to overcome it with cold-calling.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a fashion booker who owns Vibe Models Agency. I am proud of my models and team. What sets me a part is that I care about each one of them individually and will always go the extra mile for them. I make sure to book every single one of my models and to get them work. We all care and respect each one of our clients. We never take an opportunity for granted. Each one of us are passionate about what we do. We are a team, not individuals.
