Meet Berenice Zavala of Sheek Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Berenice Zavala.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Berenice. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Playing with my sister’s makeup at a young age growing up made me fall in love with the beauty industry. After graduating high school, I decided I wanted to turn my passion into a career. So, I set out to obtain my cosmetology license by attending Kingwood Lone Star college. After graduation, I knew I wanted to work in a cutting-edge salon where I could grow even more as a Stylist. I obtained a job at a very reputable salon that offered further training. I love what I did and love the environment. However, after 3 years in the industry I knew I wanted more I set a goal for myself to create and build a brand that meant beauty and that’s when Sheek Studio was born. I wanted to create a salon environment that was welcoming yet sheek. I wanted to cater to woman that loved style and beauty in the suburbs. With the help of my father and family, I was able to turn my dream into reality. On Aug 2016, I opened the doors of my salon to the public.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Every Business owners biggest fear is whether they will succeed or fail. My main focus was to find the perfect team, which did not come easy. Training and retaining the right individual was one of my biggest obstacles. I wanted someone that shared my passion and drive. It took me 6 months after several failed attempts to find the right individual that shared the same vision needed to take Sheek Studio to the next level. I found Hannah Rice, she is a driven individual that was ready to embark on this journey with me! Soon enough business picked up and word about Sheek Studio spread rapidly.

Sheek Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Sheek Studio is a full-service family owned contemporary lifestyle salon that caters to both men and woman.

Specializing in modern day trends such as Balayages, ombres, blondes and fun vivid colors. Our proud accomplishments are having our work featured by well-known brands in the industry such as Masters of Balayages and Guy Tang Mydentity color. What set us apart from others is keeping our social media up to date with our latest work. Also, our referral rate and having clients drive an hour distance for our work. The atmosphere we provide is a quiet, peaceful setting while still having fun and treating our clients like family while maintaining a good reputation.
