Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianka Wells.
Bianka, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Hi, I am Bianka. Owner and creative behind W Events Houston A boutique Event Planning & Custom Gift Designer based in Katy, TX. Born in the Dominican Republic, raced in Caracas, Venezuela, but consider myself a Houstonian.
When I was a little girl, I’d become overjoyed when I was invited to a friend’s birthday party. The primary reason behind my excitement was typical because I knew I’d be leaving said party with a party favor. The thought of rifling through my personal bag of treats on the post-party car ride home still brings back fond memories. If I’m being honest, since growing up, not much has changed.
After graduating from the University of Houston, I worked for Anheuser- Busch for 10 years. I was on the Special Event Traveling Team in charge of every major event in the country such as the Super Bowl, Kentucky Derby, Mardi Gras & the Olympics. I also developed the personal and executive gifts for the Busch family for 3 years.
Soon after that, I sold wine and spirits to corporate accounts but in the back of my mind, I always knew that event planning was what I was meant to do and finally with the encouragement and support of my husband, family and friends, I started W Events Houston in 2014.
I believe gifting should be meaningful and intentional. I want people to see that the real beauty of the gift, besides its value and price, is the thought and effort behind it.
Whether it is a gift for a corporate event, wedding, client or friend, I thrive to finding items and putting together the perfect gift that will bring happiness to both the giver and the receiver. You could say my style is simplistic elegance. I believe that even if you are on a budget, with the right amount of love and creativity you can make any event unforgettable.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have been a proud Katy Resident for the last 7 years. I feel blessed to have the privileged to do what I love and to be in this wonderful business of making others happy. I truly believe we should use our gifts to bless others so I do my best to part of the community and give back as much as I can. I am very involved in my church (Second Baptist Church West Campus) serving in their adult and women’s ministries.
I am also on the Board of Directors for the Cinco Ranch Ladies Club who provides activities for women both social and charitable, I assist on the Cinco Ranch New Home Owners Meetings, serve as an Ambassador for the Katy Chamber of Commerce and as the Sponsorship & Venues Director for Tuesday’s Together Houston.

I officially founded W Events Houston in 2014 but I have been a party planning and gift designer my entire life!
I believe gifting should be an enjoyable way to celebrate those who matter most in our lives. Somehow gifting can sometimes feel like a chore, so we resort to buying generic gifts with little meaning.
At W Events Houston, we hope to change that and make it easy for all to give special gifts that show others we care. I am committed to making your life easier by taking care of the complete organization, tough decision making, and orchestration pertaining to your event and gifting needs.
I am very passionate about gift giving. We have put a lot of research, thought, imagination, planning and heart into finding elements that are unique, useful and budget-friendly.

We are the only business in Houston that provides custom gift design, in addition to event planning. Making it easier and more efficient for our clients.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Giving my 10 years with Anheuser-Busch working on events and custom gifting, I have a unique experience, training and set of skills that I am able to bring into every event and gift we design.
We take the time to get to know our clients – from learning their story and personal style to understanding their vision for their wedding or event. We then use a corporate approach to the planning process making every step stunning, meaningful and efficient without compromising on the details.
