At SPI Outdoor Products, Inc., we are in the process of revolutionizing outdoor dining with our patented “BellaBreeze,” which stands for a beautiful breeze. Our innovative outdoor tables provide cooling (air conditioning) and heat controllable at your outdoor table seat. BellaBreeze has been in the development stage for 5 years and we are planning on launching the product coinciding with the airing of a popular entrepreneur pitch show (not Shark Tank) that will air early 2018.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has taken us longer than expected, funding is always an obstacle and challenge for every startup. For example, in 2009, we thought we had funding and then the bottom dropped out of the market, so we went back to the drawing board and dug in raising some angel seed funding to continue to develop our innovative tables.

Today, we continue to develop and raise capital to fund our ability to produce our tables and develop ancillary/complementary products that are in development.

SPI Outdoor Products – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
SPI Outdoor Products, Inc. is in the business of innovation, BellaBreeze is one of the several products that we plan on launching in line with our goal of revolutionizing outdoor dining. We are also the developer and the manufacturer of BellaBreeze with facilities in Houston, Austin and China. To date, there has been virtually no innovation to the common outdoor table setting; our issued patents secure our place in this $600 million-dollar annual marketplace. What sets us apart from existing patio furniture manufacturers is our innovation and patents and our ability to deliver this improvement/comfort at a reasonable price so that you can afford to have one on your patio.

I often ask our potential customers, when test marketing our product, would you pay a few more hundred dollars for a table that provides comfort versus one that does not? and the answer is always an overwhelming “Yes.” We will be selling to consumers and commercial customers at www.coolingtable.com.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
We are proud of the fact that we have issued patents, these are very difficult to get and we have over 14 issued utility patent claims. Also, we are proud of the fact that we are officially cast on a popular entrepreneur pitch show (not shark tank) that will begin filming in September 2017 and air early 2018.
