Today we’d like to introduce you to Blake Meaux.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Blake. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Mo’ Muscle Cars was founded in 2005 by my father, Tim Meaux, in order for the average muscle car guy to find a place that is dependable, does excellent work and stands behind their work. Our goal is to be responsive to the customer, be on the cutting edge of what’s new in the muscle car business, and do top notch restorations in a professional and dependable way. Being a motorcycle and car guy himself, fast cars and bike were always around but he wanted a place he could go to that would deliver the quality product he was looking for. Mo’ Muscle Cars was born and the wheels were set in motion.
After my father’s passing in 2009, I took over the business and our range of ability as well as our clientele continued to grow. Our typical day consists of performing simple upgrades and repairs to metal fabrication, restoration, painting, and installing modern performance in old cars. Our award winning builds have been featured in and on the cover of magazines, on TV, and at the SEMA show and we are always trying to push the limits of our ability. Our 16,000 sf owned shop is filled with tools and a great group of guys that can repair or build anything on a muscle car, classic, hot rod or even military vehicle.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Owning and operating your own business is never a breeze but does have its rewards. There are ups and downs, people and processes change and challenges do arise. In the end, you just have to keep moving forward and not lose site of your mission. My biggest challenge was having to step into this businesses after my father died. I felt like I was starting from scratch and there was so much to learn it was very overwhelming. I was and still am very lucky to be surrounded by good people. I have found that the most important thing about struggle is that you use it as an opportunity to make better decisions and to grow. Challenges and struggles can be a good thing and will make you stronger if you put them to good use.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Mo’ Muscle Cars – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Mo’ Muscle Cars is Houston’s premier one stop restoration and repair facility. On any given day, we have a huge variety of vehicles that we are working on, all of which are receiving different aspects of repair. Mostly all of the work we do is done in house in our owned 16,000 sf facility. Our customers do not have to worry about sending their car to another shop to complete their build as we do it all whether its minor repairs and tune-ups to full one-off custom builds.
Our specialty is pre-1980 vehicles and our everyday workload includes painting, body work, fabrication, rust repair, modifications, upgrades, engine work, restoration, customization and much more. We are known for our attention to detail and workmanship this is bar none. We continue to remain on the cutting edge of what’s new in the muscle car business and many of the vehicles that we build are powered by the newest modern performance drive trains available. If someone wants and old car with a modern engine and suspension, we can do it as there is nothing that we cannot accomplish.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are always striving to push the envelope by learning new techniques and by gaining knowledge and I am a firm believer that we should never stop learning. As our learning progresses, new tools are needed as well as more space to accommodate those tools. Soon, we will be adding onto our facility which will push our total area of work space to roughly 25,000 square feet! This expansion will allow us to better serve our customers and employees and we are ecstatic about the opportunities that await! Our future is bright and our dreams are even bigger! When you follow your dreams and never give up you can accomplish anything!
