Bob, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I retired from the Salisbury, Maryland Police Department as a K9 Trainer. I started my business in The Woodlands, Texas in 2000 and I am the pioneer of quality in-home Dog Training for this area. My specialty is training dogs with problem behaviors and the key to my training is that I teach people to be Trainers. I equip dog owners with the skills necessary to continue to train their dog’s. People refer to me as “The Woodlands Whisperer” but I am more like the doggy drill instructor due to my military background.
Children really like the structured military type aspect of the training and I am often asked by parents if I train children. People outside of my area of operation (North Harris County/South Montgomery County, Texas travel to The Woodlands, Tx for my training services. K9 Obey Dog Training is a well known and respected name in the Veterinarian and Pet Services Community in The Woodlands, Tx and surrounding areas.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has always been a smooth road because my main focus is to get these dog’s trained and to give exceptional customer service by making clients happy. I have had to overcome some negative skepticism over the years due to other trainers that are not legitimate, Some have no real experience or certification and have taken peoples money and not produced results or even showed back up.

K9 obey is a private lesson Dog Training service and we provide pet sitting to our clients. I am known for exceptional quality Dog Training. What sets me apart from other Trainers is my education, training, and experience. I am known for my comedy during the training and it is my goal to make my training enjoyable. I am most proud of my wife Linda who built the business up to where it is today. She spends countless hours administering to the business, answering calls, scheduling clients and is always available to counsel with them when needed.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our future plans are to offer boarding to existing clients.
