Hi Bonnie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Bonnie Guemez, and I am the Founder and CEO of Medical Concierge LLC, proudly based in Cypress, Texas servicing all of Houston and it’s surrounding metropolitan areas, with a second location now expanding into McAllen, Texas servicing all the Rio Grande Valley.

My journey began in the years following the pandemic, during a time when the healthcare world was shifting and communities were in need of more accessible support. I originally started Medical Concierge as a medical courier service, transporting laboratory specimens and helping ensure critical testing reached the right places safely and on time.

Because I already had a strong background in healthcare, I quickly recognized something bigger: the world of medical diagnostic testing needed a new approach one rooted in compassion, convenience, and trust. I saw an opportunity to bring services directly to the people who needed them most, especially those who often felt overlooked or underserved.

That vision led me to transition Medical Concierge into providing DNA and drug testing services, with a deep focus on families, accountability, and community well-being.

Today, we offer DNA relationship testing, helping bring families together and providing the answers that children deserve. We also provide specialized DNA services such as healthy weight insights, food and pet sensitivity testing, and GPS origin testing, giving individuals a deeper understanding of their health and identity.

On the drug testing side, we serve a wide range of needs working with employers, parole programs, recovery centers, group homes, legal experts and individuals seeking stability and structure. Every test we provide is more than just a service, it is a step toward accountability, reunification, and hope. We go where others don’t, because we believe healthcare and care should always meet people where they are.

As a Latina woman entrepreneur, I am proud to have built this company from the ground up through faith, resilience, and determination. Medical Concierge is not just a business it is my purpose and my contribution to making our communities safer, stronger, and healthier.

This is only the beginning. I am committed to continuing to expand our services and to reach across Texas .Ensuring that more families receive answers, more individuals receive support, and more communities experience the care they truly deserve.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced a lot of struggles along the way. There have been financial challenges, moments of self-doubt, and constant setbacks that tested my strength. One of the hardest parts has been dealing with employees quitting unexpectedly, which can feel discouraging when you’re trying to build something meaningful.

I’ve also had to face many “no’s” in marketing and outreach, which can be tough when you’re working hard to grow and gain support. Even today, I still experience challenges, but I’ve learned that entrepreneurship is not for the weak. Problems can come daily sometimes more than once a day.

Through it all, I continue to push forward by keeping my faith strong and reminding myself of why I started this business in the first place. Every struggle has helped shape me, and I’m committed to continuing the journey no matter what obstacles come my way.

We’ve been impressed with Medical Concierge LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Medical Concierge was created with one mission at heart: to make medical diagnostic testing more accessible, personal, and compassionate for the communities we serve. We provide mobile drug and alcohol screening, DNA testing for a peace of mind or legal or immigration purposes. We bring essential services directly to individuals, families, and workplaces.

We are known for meeting people where they are, both physically and emotionally. In today’s world, healthcare can often feel overwhelming, impersonal, and difficult to navigate. Our goal is to remove barriers by offering convenient, professional care in a way that feels supportive, respectful, and human.

What truly sets us apart is our commitment to individualized service. We understand that behind every appointment is a person, a family, a concern, or a need for answers. We strive to provide not only high-quality testing, but also reassurance, dignity, and trust throughout the entire experience. Our clients are not treated as numbers they are treated as people. Brand-wise, I am most proud of the reputation we are building as a trusted and caring medical diagnostic testing facility. As an entrepreneur, it has been incredibly meaningful to create something that truly serves others. Medical Concierge represents resilience, integrity, and purpose.

One of the best pieces of advice I can share about finding a mentor or networking is to start with authenticity and purpose. When I began building Medical Concierge, I didn’t have a large business network or a roadmap laid out in front of me. What helped me most was simply showing up, asking questions, and being open to learning from others who had already walked the path.

Mentorship doesn’t always come in the form of one formal person, it can come through small conversations, community leaders, healthcare professionals, or other entrepreneurs who genuinely want to see you grow. I found that when you approach people with respect and a willingness to listen, many are happy to share their experience.

Networking has worked best for me when I focused on building real relationships instead of just exchanging business cards. I attend local events, connect with others in the healthcare and business community, and follow up consistently. I’ve learned that opportunities often come from simply being present and staying connected.

As a Latina woman building my company from the ground up, I’ve also learned the importance of surrounding yourself with people who believe in your vision and encourage you to keep going. My advice is to never be afraid to introduce yourself, share your story, and ask for guidance. The right mentor will respect your passion, and the right network will help open doors you didn’t even know existed.

Most importantly, mentorship and networking are about mutual support when you grow, you also create space to help others grow too
