Meet Brain Orchestra of Elizabeth, NJ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brain Orchestra

Hi Brain, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started rhyming around 14 years old with my friends in high school. We would skip class a ton & just rap in the stairwell seeing who wrote the best stuff the night before. We started putting together small shows locally with friends in bands / other rappers & made a name for ourselves locally.

At 16 years old on FL Studio. I slowly graduated to a Maschine / Ableton & spent my early years strictly producing instrumentals. When I turned 20, I got hip to doing live performance of beats on a SP-555 & eventually I purchased a MPC 2000XL & started collecting vinyl. Fast forward to now, I use a MPC LIVE mainly with various pieces of equipment like tape machines, SP-404s / 555 & Ableton.

Most know me for my output of self funded records, tapes & other various physical goods as well as my live shows & vinyl collecting.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I feel I have been blessed with a lot of the opportunities I have gotten but I also don’t forget all the work it took. It’s a lot of trial & error, investing $$ that you won’t always make back, etc. It’s never perfect & the struggles get worse if you don’t take care of yourself as a human first. From personally experience, I tell people that without being fulfilled as a person outside of music, you’ll never feel fulfilled with your art.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Most people know me as a producer, rapper & live performer that keeps the essence of classic hip hop alive in a personal fashion. I started a Patreon blog highlighting the world of vinyl records now that my collection is over 700+ copies from around the world. I think lately I’ve become an audiophile who keeps music alive through creation & blogging, as well as pressing more than 10+ cassette tapes & 14+ vinyl records with my own funding. From what I am grateful to hear, I keep the practice alive as a younger individual & vow to keep doing that.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
To work with me just takes an email & ideas. Lately I have been specific with what I do & who I work with because I strive to work with people who approach music like me. I do a lot of work to survive as well, so I just appreciate good business & relationships that come from that.

To support me, I simply ask that people follow my FREE newsletter on brainorchestra.net. You can also further support by becoming a Patreon member via patreon./brainorchestra. I post a vinyl record every week & talk about its history as well as exclusive music from me only for members. You can also follow my socials, but I much rather people subscribe to the free newsletter or Patreon. Regardless, I appreciate everyone who even gives a look my way in this world.
