Meet BreAnna Wiley of Houston, Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to BreAnna Wiley

Hi BreAnna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Greetings, my name is BreAnna Wiley. Most people call me Bre or BreFit. I am originally from
West Memphis, Arkansas. After graduating high school and finishing high school basketball career, I attended a community college back home, where I was apart of their inaugural women’s basketball program; the Mid-South Lady Greyhounds. Following a amazing season, averaging 20+ points a game, I received a basketball and academic scholarship at Southern University-New Orleans. At SUNO, was able to win a regular season and conference championship, and attend the NAIA Sweet 16. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation with honors.

I did have a few hiccups during my undergrad career, such as tearing my PCL and missing the tournament in my junior year. Battling injuries and returning to sports was mentally and physically challenging, but it allowed me to take my health more serious and sparked a passion to become the personal trainer and health coach I am today.

Following my undergraduate degree, I moved home for about 5 months where I kicked off my
personal training brand and business (Get Fit Wit Bre Fitness). Once it was up and running, I
decided to venture to a bigger city, in which I landed in Houston in December of 2015. I initially
had plans to attend the University of Houston and major in Sports Administration. However, I
did not attend UH, I was accepted into the Arkansas State University Sports Administration
graduate program, graduating December of 2018 with honors.

Once arriving in Houston, I focused on attending various networking events and collaborating
with likeminded individuals. 2015 was when I started my career as an entrepreneur & fitness
coach. I created my activewear & accessory brand BREFITACTIVE & continued to push my
training brand GET FIT WIT BRE FITNESS
.
Today I am a 10-year veteran in the fitness industry and currently pursuing a professional
doctorates degree in public health where I am focusing on building healthier black communities
and improving health outcomes of various communities.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Challenges faced were business knowledge and financial literacy starting off. I didn’t know much
about LLCs, DBAs, business accounts and building business credit, EINs and so on.

Lessons I learned where to just go for it, nothing will be perfect starting off, and there’s never a right time to start your business. You learn a lot on the way, and mistakes are normal. I also learned to trust in my vision and never let others
shy you away from going for your dreams. I also learned that having good credit, personal and business can take you a long way. I would say that prior to Covid, business was better. Now I feel like everyone is making up for
lost time and profit.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a certified Personal Trainer, and Health & Wellness Coach. Although I am considered a
fitness influencer, I also hold multiple professional degrees. I have a Master’s in Sport Administration and currently work for an NFL team, and I am currently completing my Doctor of Public Health degree, in which I plan to really focus on women’s health and wellness from all aspects (mental, physical, nutrition).

I have also worked as a marketing professional for the last 10 years, so marketing is second
nature to me.

I am most known for fitness, working in professional sports, and being a part of one of the
largest energy brands in the world, such as Cellucor/C4Energy.

I am most proud of trusting the process and manifesting my dreams. Most people give up easy or
when adversity comes. However, I have continued to weather the storms and keep pushing
forward weather I had 1 supporter or 100.

What sets me apart is that I don’t follow trends. I do what I feel is necessary in the moment/time
frame.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’ve had a ton of supporters, cheerleaders, advocates, clients, and people who have offered mentoring and advice along the way.

Too many to name, and I’d hate to leave anyone out. But because of their support, time, efforts, and words of encouragement, I’ve made it to where I am today and I am forever grateful for them believing in little ole me.
