Hi Brent, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Raymond Pryor (co-founder, ex-business partner, and friend) and I started Trash N Dash out of necessity. Coworkers and college students at the time, we had been looking for a better way to put our business education to use. Raymond came up with the idea to provide doorstep trash removal to apartment communities. I came up with the idea to provide junk removal. In doing market research we discovered two things. Large disposal companies proved expensive and generally discouraged people from using their services. Small locally owned businesses proved to be unprofessional in their telephone manner and customer service. Many of them did not have a trustworthy appearance either in their person or their equipment. We started out with a cargo van but quickly worked our way into the right equipment.
Over the course of a few months, after discovering the pain points and how they could be improved, the Trash N Dash vision was born: Offer junk removal services to home-owners and businesses using employees who look and behave in a professional manner. Respect the client’s time and earn their trust by providing the same excellent service again and again. In order to accomplish this mission, the Trash N Dash way was born. Essentially, in order to provide the best service every time, we broke down the activities of Trash N Dash into several processes to make sure that we can always meet the expectation of the customer. By following these procedures, our customers walk away with the feeling that they have been provided the service they deserve. Our employee’s walk away knowing that they have helped someone out of a time-consuming and expensive problem in a professional manner. The feeling of a job well done in both our employees and customers ensures that Trash N Dash maintains the reputation it deserves and keeps customers coming back.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The ride down this 11 year road has been far from smooth, however when you grew up coming down roads like Jensen or Hirsch, you learn that any road can be repaved. Waste Removal is what I like to call a less than sexy industry yet it is a necessary one. That being said there are some unique challenges built in that that make you invincible as an entrepreneur. No one necessarily wakes up to decide they want to shop for a waste hauler; no one posts on social media about their new junk removal provider. From less than knowledgeable accountants and bookkeepers to subpar employees to equipment failure to bad clients and etc. We’ve weathered almost every storm imaginable and have been on the brink of catastrophic failure over and over again yet somehow we adapt and persevere. The rules of nature always apply adapt or die and we’re in it for the long haul!

We offer free estimates, upfront pricing and some of the lowest minimums in town. We’re known for our top notch customer service, speed and efficiency. We handle everything from simple junk removal and valet trash jobs to hoarder cleanup to interior & small exterior demolition and demolition debris cleanup.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Much like everyone else we were faced with the many challenges of the pandemic and one thing stood out to us that has been consistent throughout our journey….Adapt! This wasn’t our first rodeo so against every natural instinct we had to hunker down conserve; we decided to expand our services right in the middle of the chaos, thus Dumpster Dash was born. This allowed us to offer Dumpster Rental Services or “Contactless Junk Removal” if you will. A year later and this has proven to be one of our best decisions.
