Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Drisdale.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always been a news buff and in high school, I studied journalism at the Jack Yates School of Communications in Third Ward. From there I went to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville and finished with a bachelors in multi-media journalism, minoring in marketing. While in school I worked, interned, and did side projects that included filmmaking, marketing, video editing, radio, and worked as the Promotions Coordinator for my university’s newspaper.
After graduating, I did a few “odd jobs” while trying to find a career where I could demonstrate my love for people and media. I decided to pursue PR, but no agency in town would hire me because I did not have enough experience according to them. I got tired of waiting for someone else to give me an opportunity and that is when MASH was born in November 2015.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
All thanks to God for He has been my guide through any adversity. With that being said, the road has not been smooth. The biggest challenge is balancing MASH and my 9 to 5 job as a commissioned sales and media consultant for KIAH-CW39 TV. Another struggle is the lack of support from friends and peers. Other than that, I love the hustle. I am someone that thrives in difficult times and can honestly say that I enjoy learning from mistakes I’ve made.
