Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Biddle.
Brittany, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
MP Studio officially launched in the Summer of 2013; however, the dream to have our own Interiors firm was a long time coming. Shana Jacobs, our Creative Director, and I are cousins and each worked separately in our field before joining forces.
We have always had a strong interest in the arts and knew from a young age that interior design was something we both wanted to pursue. By 2011, Shana had opened her own single-family design firm, and I was working for a hospitality group in Nashville. When I made the decision to move back to Houston, Shana and I teamed up to create MP Studio.
We continue to do single-family model merchandising, as there is something special about crafting an environment that a potential home buyer can see them living in. However, we have also expanded into multi-family design and spend much of our time creating multi-level amenity spaces in which tenants can enjoy.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes, it has been a surprisingly smooth road. We have had so much fun growing the business and building our client base over the past few years. We have fantastic clients in both single and multi-family who really make it a joy to work for. We also feel fortunate to have such strong team members – not only are they talented designers, but they also add enthusiasm and personality to the work environment.
MP Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are an interiors firm that specializes in single-family and multi-family design. We work on projects from model homes to condominiums to mid-rise and high-rise apartments. I, personally, am most proud of our team of designers. We all work really well together and are eager to help each other on projects when needed. Interior Design is a very collaborative profession.
It would be very difficult to consistently come up with unique and innovative spaces if we did not have a team of creative thinkers constantly brainstorming with us. And that is also, I believe, what sets us apart. Because we are all so passionate about creating beautiful, livable environments, we tackle each project together and do not settle until we have dreamed up something we are all proud of.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
That’s a tough one! There are so many goals we set forth for our company, and every time we reach one, we are always immensely excited and proud. Celebrating our One Year Anniversary was thrilling.
Winning our first set of awards gave us confidence that we were moving in the right direction, and gaining repeat clients made us feel like the people we worked for truly valued our designs. We feel very grateful to be working in an industry that we love, and we look forward to many more milestones ahead!
