Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Martin.
Fundamental Learning Center was founded by mother and daughter Pauline and Brittany Martin in 2018 with a basic philosophy that children will learn, grow and play, all while having FUN! They started the Fundamental Learning Center because of their passion and dedication for their love of children. Pauline had a business background and Brittany with a background in education and together they combined forces to go after their childcare passion. With their background and many years of experience in childcare, they knew this would be the perfect time to open the Fundamental Learning Center a facility that will give back to future generations to come.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to opening Fundamental Learning Center was not a smooth road, through this journey we encountered a few challenges, from building construction passing coding to the fire system failure; not once but twice. Each challenge we faced essentially pushed back our start date further and further until we were able to get the building fully coded to pass and obtain our license. What we once thought was only going to be a couple of weeks actually turned out to being a full year of mishaps. In the end, although it was tough each obstacle we faced made us stronger and wiser.

At Fundamental Learning Center we thrive on providing a caring, secure, refreshing and safe, environment for our children, where they will continue to learn, grow, play and have FUN while developing in the following areas: physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Here at the Fundamental Learning Center, we believe in being supportive of our parents and we welcome their positive involvement and presence at all times.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The quality we possess at Fundamental is that we are curriculum-based learning center. We didn’t want to be your average daycare where kids came and played and then were sent home. We wanted to create an environment where children could come in and learn, strive and have fun all while doing so. We make it our main focus to do curriculum-based learning and activities that students can take home daily to show parents their progress while in our care.
