Today we’d like to introduce you to brittney borders.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I grew up in a single parent household with three sisters. Hair was literally everywhere. We had products and hair tools galore. I pretty much started doing my own hair in different styles I would see on tv or magazines. People then began to admire my work and started requesting my services from classmates on down to friends of the family. During high school, I completed cosmetology school and got licensed, which saved me tons on money. Now I have my own salon suite and hair company.
Has it been a smooth road?
Smooth? Absolutely NOT. There are times when I want to throw in the towel. But I don’t allow things to defeat me. I do find it easy to stay current because of the internet but I also feel as though it hinders because everything is so easily accessible if that makes sense. Like sometimes I find myself running in circles trying to standout and keep my brand different and fresh. Nothing about entrepreneurship is smooth.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the B Lux Label Studios story. Tell us more about the business.
B Lux Label Studios is a brand for all women. I support women from all different walks of life. My goal is to fulfill their hair needs and wants. I make sure my clients are truly satisfied and understand their basic hair needs. I specialize in weaves and natural hair. If you ask anyone about my brand, they will most definitely say they love my bobs. I am obsessed with bobs, and it’s my favorite style to perform. I believe what sets me apart from other brands is my drive, my techniques, and my promise to make you feel as beautiful as you are.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the coming future, I see a lot more black-owned brands from products to hair stores. This industry is constantly growing and becoming a lot more accessible.

I was introduced to Brittney by my friend in 2012. She did my first quick weave bob and I fell in love. I haven’t left her side ever since. 7 years and counting of great service.
