Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittni Dones.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Brittni. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was younger, I always knew that I would like to study science, and when I went to college, I began with Pre Med. After about a year, I decided I wanted to focus more on science having to do with the brain, so I changed my major to Psychology. After I completed undergrad, I decided to pursue a Masters in Counseling, and shortly after becoming a licensed therapist! After I became fully licensed, I began applying to be a provider on insurance panels so that I could start accepting insurance. I started to notice a need for therapy for children with behavioral problems, adults with substance disorders, misdiagnosed minorities, and trauma survivors. I wanted to help people in a private setting thus I started my private practice!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all! The largest struggle was just figuring out how to start a business in general! But some other struggles I’ve conquered were working in toxic work environments. I also had other life struggles like my biggest fan, which is my grandfather passing away, and my mother becoming ill.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Wishing Well Counseling – what should we know?
I’m most proud of my brand Wishing Well and also that I can facilitate change in others. I believe in change so much that I named my company wishing well just like people throw money in a well and make a wish that’s exactly what I believe in everything I do. My brand is a wishing well, and how change is thrown in a well, is the same way my clients put change in themselves and outcomes growth and positive outcomes it’s amazing and so rewarding! I named my brand Wishing Well because I literally wish everyone well. I love being able to help, guide and change the trajectory of others lives. I completely believe in change and have a gift of being able to see my clients objectively and I have a deeply embedded passion for helping others. I continuously push myself and thrive in the field of counseling, my ambition sets me apart and I have impacted celebrities some I can name and some I can not disclose. I don’t just do traditional therapy I really relate and I believe no one is too far gone that I can’t reach them. I push myself to go beyond the point I ever imagined and be able to touch the lives of those such as musicians, etc. — they touch lives and I touch their lives it’s just really amazing!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I’m DOPE! Nah Authenticity. If you don’t have that you don’t really have anything who wants to talk to someone who seems like they are reading from a script or talking to a robot.

Great story. I’ve known her for 33 years and she is a determined individual who never believe in giving up on her dreams.
