Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Rodriguez.
Hi Bryan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I joined the military right out of high school instead of going directly to college. I joined the Navy in 2005 and was stationed in Japan for 4 years (did my last year in San Diego, CA). I knew almost immediately that I wanted to go to college and do something more with myself. All of us that joined right out of high school felt the same. So when it was time to leave (after 5 years), I decided to go back home and go to college. I attended UH – Downtown and graduated in 2013. I made the decision to go to law school before i got out of the military. I never thought that could be a legitimate career path for myself until i had a chance meeting with our staff JAG (Navy Attorney) on my last ship in 2010. At the time, a career like that was so foreign to me that it never was given any serious thought. But I finally had the courage to take the risk and go for it. It was a pretty difficult path. I got through undergraduate school decently – mostly relying on friends and classmates to get through my classes. I got a job in a law office to prepare and I started studying for the LSAT. I didn’t take it too serious. I signed up for courses, but never really went to them. I had study material, but never used them. I ended up taking the LSAT and scoring somewhere in the 140’s. My undergrad grades were enough to pull me into South Texas college of Law back then – around 2014. But.. all my laziness eventually came back around – the first semester crushed me into a pulp to the point where i just gave up mid way through. And since then, my life kind of stopped – I didn’t have any other plans or direction. I found myself taking whatever jobs i could, never feeling fulfilled. I decided to take a break from everything and re-join the military as a reserve member. This time i joined the Army National Guard. I got through a difficult series of obstacles and finally made the decision to go back to law school and get my life together. I applied again using my similar score and was denied – so this time, i put all my effort into crushing the LSAT. And i did. I got an incredible score – i was admitted back to STCL (where i wanted to go) and pursued what ended up being the ultimate grind. After all my years of struggling financially and with careers, i told myself, If I do this, I’m only doing this to have one boss – ME. That was my only plan and aspiration. The day i found out i passed the bar exam, i cried – and then i created my PLLC and opened my Chase accounts. Everything was ready. I was determined to succeed. Without much money to our name (now married with a son), I risked everything to get my business going. It started with cheap business cards and my laptop at home – taking anything i could for money. Telling anyone that would listen that i was a lawyer. The following March, i got a tiny office that i worked out of – by the end of the year, I expanded into a larger office and got a part time employee. But the beginning of 2026 – I took a giant risk and went all in – hired 5 employees and got a full office in the heart of the Galleria. There has been so many missed dinners, weekends, moments with my family (now 4 of us), all to make this work. This was truly the biggest hustle of my life. There were so many events, so many people met, so many broken promises, so many wasted opportunities, so many seeds planted, that there was nothing else left but for success to come. And its funny to hear some of the reactions from the people that have been on this journey with me – one friend recently told me that i was the luckiest person he has ever met. Funny…
Currently, I operate a high volume personal injury law firm with my staff out of the Galleria and am a commissioned officer with the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps with the Texas Army National Guard. My life has just been a series of risk after risk. To me, I don’t even know how else to be anymore. What I do know now – and what gives me the courage and confidence in any and every decision i make, is that no matter what happens, no matter what is taken away from me: I am NEVER out of the fight and I can always make a comeback.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not a smoot road at all. There were financial struggles, There was the uncertainty of me passing my bar exam – which would essentially make me worthless in my field. My daughter was born with a genetic disorder that caused all kinds of hell in 2025 – both medically and legally. There was uncertainty of business and whether i would even make it as an entrepreneur. This all caused strains on my marriage.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My firm is a Texas personal injury law firm that specializes in motor vehicle and trucking accidents for clients. What sets us apart is the length we go to make sure that every client has access to their attorney and can reach whenever they want. We give daily access to case status to our clients and provide them with quick ways to get help during emergencies. There are almost no law firms where a client can directly text the attorney or speak to them immediately. This is what I’m most proud of and what I know clients can’t get from other firms. We’re also a true veteran owned law firm – as I am an active member of the Army National Guard.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
There will be a big shift over to AI – allowing a lot of complex drafting and medical records and injury analysis to be done almost instantly. With AI eliminating either side’s ability to create ‘gotcha’ moments – I see a trend with case settlements falling more into a space where personality, charm and likeability play a larger role.
