Today we’d like to introduce you to Candi Smith.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In 2008, I moved from San Antonio to Houston on my own with a dream of growing my career as an esthetician and creating a better life for myself. It was a big leap, but I was determined to build a future doing something I truly loved.
Over the years, I worked in spas throughout Houston, where I was able to master my skills, continue my education, and build relationships with incredible clients. Many of those clients have been with me for years and still trust me with their skincare today, which is something I never take for granted.
After nearly 20 years of working for others, I decided to take another leap of faith in 2023 and open Dream Glow By Candi. I had a lot of fear and uncertainty, but I chose to trust in myself, my experience, my work ethic, and the relationships I had built over the years.
Building a business has not been easy, but through hard work, dedication, and the support of my amazing clients, Dream Glow By Candi has grown into a thriving business that I am incredibly proud of.
Today, I can honestly say I am living a dream that once felt so far away. None of it would be possible without the clients who believed in me, supported me, and trusted me with their skin. They are the heart of my business, and I am grateful for every person who has been part of this journey.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was stepping away from the security of working for someone else and trusting myself enough to build my own business. After spending nearly 20 years in the industry, I knew I had the skills and experience, but taking that leap still came with a lot of fear and uncertainty.
Like many small business owners, I’ve faced challenges balancing the many responsibilities that come with running a business. You’re not only providing a service, you’re also managing marketing, finances, scheduling, inventory, and everything behind the scenes. There were moments of self doubt and times when I questioned whether I was making the right decisions.
What helped me push through was remembering why I started and focusing on the relationships I had built with my clients over the years. Their support, along with my passion for skincare, kept me moving forward even during the difficult moments.
Looking back, every challenge taught me something valuable. Those experiences helped me grow not only as a business owner, but also as a person, and they made Dream Glow By Candi what it is today.

Dream Glow By Candi is a skincare studio built on the belief that everyone deserves to feel confident in their skin. As a licensed esthetician, I provide customized facials and skincare treatments designed to support each client’s unique concerns and goals.
I specialize in helping clients improve concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation, and signs of aging while creating a relaxing experience that feels both results-driven and nurturing. My approach is centered around education, consistency, and building genuine relationships with the people who trust me with their skin.
What makes Dream Glow By Candi special is the personal connection. I want every client to feel comfortable, cared for, and empowered throughout their skincare journey. I’m proud to have created a welcoming space where clients can relax, invest in themselves, and receive honest guidance tailored to their needs.
More than anything, I want people to know that Dream Glow By Candi is about helping others feel beautiful, confident, and comfortable in their own skin. Seeing my clients gain confidence and achieve their skincare goals is the most rewarding part of what I do.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happiest is helping people feel confident in their own skin. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a client look in the mirror and smile because they feel good about themselves. Knowing that I can play a small part in helping someone feel more confident is what I love most about being an esthetician.
Outside of work, I find happiness in spending time with my husband, my dogs, and the people I love. I also enjoy staying active, learning new things, traveling, and creating memories with the people closest to me.
I am especially grateful for the life I have built. Moving to Houston on my own years ago was a leap of faith, and being able to wake up every day doing work I love while helping others is something I never take for granted. The simple things such as connection, growth, gratitude, and making a positive impact on others are what bring me the most happiness.
