Meet Candice Brooks of Blessed & Kech in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Brooks.

Candice, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
With over 15 years of education in the chemical industry, I fully understand the need to monitor the intake of toxins. Blessed & Kech started as therapy for me. Creating aromatherapy scents that relieve stress, aid sleep and create an energetic environment. For the last two years, I have been out in the community engaging the Blessed and Kech Living Beyond Brand… Blessed is our prayer and Kech is our Angel. We believe in living beyond a wing and a prayer. My passion to create has quickly become an opportunity for me to give back to the community through education and economic empowerment.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The Living Beyond mission is to promote self-care. Take time to give back to yourself and gain strength to push forward. It’s a Lifestyle. Our biggest struggle has been creating a community for educating the beneficial usage of aromatherapy and organics. Cities like LA & NY are at the forefront of the Self-care movement. For Houstonians, Artisan products are a luxury. I want to spread the word that our brand is not exclusive. From Himalayan Pink Salt, Activated charcoal, Premium Essential Oils and beyond. Just like exercise and diets, the elements were applied topically and through inhalation can improve our mind, body & spirit.

Please tell us about Blessed & Kech.
Blessed + Kech provides customized gift-giving solutions. Custom Soy/Beeswax candles, Organic bath + skincare, clothing & beyond. Each item is Artisan made with love and premium products. I am most proud of the support & feedback I have received in the last two years. I value those moments because they allow me to grow. What sets our product apart is multi-functionality. From Bath & Body products that cleanse, moisturize and exfoliate to Candles that a mixture of soy & beeswax & curated aromatherapy oil blends. We carefully specialize in formulating products that heal from the outside in.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory was my 5th birthday. My mom worked for Continental Airlines at the time flew us out to Hawaii for a Mother/Daughter birthday trip. I remember to this day looking out the window, watching the sunset over the ocean and saying “Mommy the world is so Beautiful. At that moment I knew that the world was vast but not beyond my reach.
