Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlos Cabrera, Edgar Sermeno, and Blanca Ventura.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Carlos, Edgar, and Blanca. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Be Fit came together after a discussion between myself and my brother in law, Edgar. We realized that we had the potential to start a warehouse gym that would focus on making it members happy by providing a casual yet motivating gym environment. After some planning and research we decided to open our gym in the East End of Houston because we saw the potential of the area. We got to where we are now by working hard together to provide the best environment to work out in as we possibly can.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
So far, so good. We’ve been fortunate enough to have had no major issues so far.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Be Fit Gym story. Tell us more about the business.
Be Fit is a family owned small business. I am one of the founders and I help manage the business with my brother in law. I am most proud of the sense of community we’ve created within our gym. Members are constantly befriending one another and motivating each other and we’d like to think its because we make them feel so comfortable and at home. I also believe this is what sets us apart from other gyms in Houston because most corporate gyms and even some smaller gyms are not interested in getting to know their members and making them feel like this is THEIR gym.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We’re lucky to have as many loyal members that we have and lucky to be in a great area that is constantly growing. We’re grateful for that.
