Carmen, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have over 24 years of medical billing and coding experience and currently I am the Member Development Officer of the Houston AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders) chapter. Also, I am over the mentor program for the chapter and assist students whom are preparing to take the Certified Professional Coders (CPC) examination. I became so busy assisting students six days per week I decided to obtain my professional license and open up my own business. Currently, I am a Licensed PMCC AAPC Instructor.
Currently, I am the proud owner of CLC Billing and Coding Concepts located in the heart of Houston, Texas. I teach a variety of classes ranging from:

In the education field there is always struggles along the way. However, I provide my students with all the necessary tools on passing the state board exam.

The most thing I’m proud of is when my students call me and they shout, “Ms. Carmen, I passed”. I get the most joy out of someone being able to move up in today’s world. Being able to market themselves and not settle for less.

- CPC 12-16 week course $2,250.00 (includes AAPC exam, membership, (3) coding manuals and PMCC text and workbook.
- CPC Prep/Boot Camp $350.00 and is offered every month. It is a 5 day intensive class (not for beginners).
- CPC Coder’s Review $75.00, one day review class
- CPC One-on-One Tutoring $20.00 per hour/ 2 hour minimum
