Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen Da Costa.
Carmen, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My journey began in my latter years working for Corporate America in Property Management, I decided to obtain my Real Estate License & become an investor. In 2014, I began working with a few clients as a dual agent (part-time) and I immediately dove into acquiring investment properties in 2016 to generate supplemental income. I’ve always had an interest and passion for assisting people with their next home. It wasn’t until my Mentor at the time encouraged me to consider the New Home Construction Industry and work with a builder. With her influence and my desire to grow professionally in the Real Estate Industry, I transitioned into New Home Sales in 2016. After facing a few challenges during Hurricane Harvey, I liquidated the properties I had at that time and focused on New Home Sales. I’ve had the opportunity to successfully assist several families and individuals fulfill their dream to become a homeowner and I will continue to work in my passion that I am grateful for.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing worth having comes easy, and for me that worth having is success. No it has not been a smooth road, selling homes & being a small investor can be very competitive at times and the perfect deal has been rare in my experience. Some of the challenges I’ve faced have been losing money due to losing tenants, hiring the wrong contractor for repairs, and learning to bounce back from a national disaster that damaged an investment property I owned.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
