Today we’d like to introduce you to Celia Aguero.
Celia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started with me being a bartender at a nightclub on Washington. I met the owner and he was really intrigued by my work ethic and ideas. I was already working at an airbrush tanning salon but wasn’t going anywhere there. So my now business partner John asked me “Why don’t you open your own” I proceeded with “because I’m a broke 20-year-old who knows nothing about owning a business” but a couple months later, August 2012 we opened our doors.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I don’t think smooth and starting a business go hand in hand. It was definitely more of a roller coaster. The most challenging thing was making Bronze Bar a known name in an industry that already had 4-5 existing competitors. I just had to make Bronze Bar the best and most popular and hoped all the clients would follow.
So I worked really hard handing out flyers, posting on social media and really putting myself out there.
Please tell us about Bronze Bar Airbrush Tanning.
Bronze Bar is an all organic airbrush tanning salon that specializes in custom spray tans detailed to each person’s skin tone and type. We definitely pride ourselves in making each client feel confident and beautiful for the past 5 years.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing, I’m a firm believer in everything happens for a reason. And believe it or not I would love to go back in time and do it all over again the same way.
