Meet Chad Brawley of theBRAWLEYgroup

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Brawley.

Chad Brawley, a native Houstonian, has been working in full time ministry for over twenty years. He has had the privilege of serving influential ministries such as The Potter’s House of Dallas, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church and Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Houston.

Chad currently serves as the Pastor of Worship at The Luke Church, a suburban mega-ministry in Humble, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from The University of North Texas, holds a Master of Arts in Worship from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently matriculating through the Doctor of Ministry program at Boston University.

In addition to his academic achievements, Chad is an accomplished pianist, organist and clinician. Minister Brawley has been compelled to create an album that would contribute to a body of music that serves as the weekly soundtrack for personal and corporate worship. His inaugural project, “The We Worship Experience” does just that.

It is packed with songs that are carefully written with theological integrity and stylings intended to carry out Jesus’ exhortation to make disciples in Matthew 28. This collection of worship and praise anthems are excellent for a personal devotional time as well as exciting participatory congregational engagement.

Chad has been called to assist pastors and churches in using worship to disciple congregations and facilitate perpetual spiritual maturation and he does this through his ministry consulting company. Chad has served the Greater Houston community since 2001 by providing high-quality production, music education and worship resources.

As a consultant, Chad endeavors to comprehend the pastor’s vision, interpret it artistically and equip the worship ministry to execute effectively through evaluations, workshops, staff development and follow up, to ensure long-term results.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has not been a completely smooth road. There have been financial issues with the WeWorship Album. Being an “artist” is VERY expensive if one is not backed by a label, and even then, it’s not a cakewalk.

Additionally, I’ve had issues with remaining in a good “head-space.” FIghting feelings of unworthiness and inadequacy have been a constant. I’m grateful for God’s faithfulness and love…. particularly in this area.

theBRAWLEYgroup – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Brawley Group is a consulting firm that works with churches in developing their worship ministries. The process begins with leadership conversations on vision and the desired direction of the ministry.

We then move to evaluations and the formulation of a plan of action. Through staff training, coaching and intentional resourcing, we are able to partner with churches in strengthening their worship ministries to the point of maximized effectiveness.

Based on Matthew 28, we believe that God has given worship ministries the mandate to participate in the making of disciples. We work to make this a reality.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Wow. Not sure I can answer that. I get so much joy when someone lets me know how they’ve been blessed by the album or my ministry work at the church or in the community.

Opportunities to be an agent of transformation definitely make my heart sing. I’m also very excited when my team(s) and I have been working on something and we finally “get it” accomplished well.

Of course, the WeWorship recording was a landmark in my life as well as the album release concert. Graduation from Southwestern with my master’s degree. Admission to the Doctoral program at Boston University.
