Meet Chaptabois of Chaptaboi Ent

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chaptabois.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Chaptabois: is a rhyming duo of two brothers, Snypa, & Shankanites, who are known from the notorious Secta 7 crew, for their dynamic skills in the underground hip hop scene of Houston Texas. We started out doing shows at different churches across the U.S. Then we decided to bring our sound and vision to the world. We also work behind the scenes of the music industry in Film and TV. Our songs has been featured in a variety of productions. Including the hit show “Power,” “Blackish,” ” All American,” “Orange Is The New Black,” “Step Up,” “Rush Hour” and countless others. We’re currently trying to put a face to the music. Being an independent artist is very difficult but also very rewarding. It’s definitely a challenge, but we believe we will reach our dreams and goals soon.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s hasn’t been smooth at all. Anything in life worth having. Is definitely going to be a fight to obtain. Many artist choose to sign with a record label. For marketing dollars, radio connections, tour possibilities and maximum exposure. When you’re independent everything rest on your shoulders. Marketing and promotion is very expensive. So you have to create unique ways to get the peoples attention. Via social media, word of mouth and shows.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We definitely have plans of taking our company to the next level, but in these grass-root stages, we’re known for mainly TV and Film features. We also delve in merchandising. We want to promote the champion in our listeners. Our songs are anthems for getting up and doing something with your life. Grind and make your life count. We stand in the gap for the go-getters and people that believe in making their own way. Life is hard. So you must do it hard.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Houston is a hub for independent artist. I believe what’s holding us back is the lack of opportunity and resources. We don’t have big record labels looking for artists. We don’t have genuine showcases looking to really give the artist an opportunity. We’re not saying Houston is a drought. There are some people out here in the city that really try to help when they can. Houston is more like a jungle. Nothing is readily available. You have to go out and get it. Which is awesome in a sense, because it builds character and longevity.
