Meet Chef Jeffery Williams of OLD SCHOOL SOUL FOOD

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chef Jeffery Williams

Hi Chef Jeffery , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is chef JEFFERY Williams
I’m a professional chef that started my cooking passion at an early age of 12 years old

My mom was the person who I admired growing up and fell in love with the passion of cooking

I was born and raised in a small town of Jewett Texas

I started my first cooking job in a small restaurant at the age of 16 years old and continued to work there until I graduated from high school and started culinary school

After graduating from culinary school in 1988 I moved to the city of Houston where I started working at a private country club which increased my knowledge of cooking and skills as well

But after 34 years of dedication and hard work to make others happy with my cooking
I decided to retire in 2022 and work full time at my own business called OLD SCHOOL SOUL FOOD ( which I actually started in 2015)

OLD SCHOOL SOUL FOOD is a social media platform that covers over 8 social media platforms ( you tube, twitter, facebook,instagram,Pinterest,tic tok,)

I have over 1 million total subscribers

I do cooking videos as well as restaurant reviews
My main focus is SOUL FOOD
Which is my favorite food and the food that I grew up eating and first started cooking

I enjoy cooking and sharing my recipes and food with others

Nothing makes my heart more happy than seeing someone enjoy my cooking and recipes

But all the credit goes to my mom and her love and patience with me when I was younger and wanting to know everything about cooking

My main advice to anyone who wants to be successful is to put god first and follow your dreams
And with drive determination and discipline you will achieve success

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No
Being successful isn’t a easy road
But you must learn from your mistakes and push forward with your goals

I definitely have had struggles with recipes and cooking challenges that doesn’t always come out right
But you learn from your mistake

We’ve been impressed with OLD SCHOOL SOUL FOOD , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a social media influencer that shares my recipes with people and do restaurant and food reviews as well

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’m very introverted shy person that really likes to be quiet and too myself when the camera isn’t on
