Meet Chris Mathews of Beat The Odds

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Mathews

Hi Chris, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Whew, where do I even begin? First, I want to give all the glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I was a college dropout trying to find my way, so I decided to pursue “Beat The Odds” in 2019 as a 21-year-old. My friends and I were talking about sports betting, but I wasn’t really that interested in gambling. Although I did love sports, I started doing my research and noticed that it was typically the same everywhere: you either win or lose money. So, I thought about what would make sports betting more enticing, even allowing you to win even if you lose.

With no knowledge of the industry, I spent years studying and driving Uber to get people’s opinions about what they would like to see from sports betting platforms. During those years, I also filed for two patents, which are currently still pending. I’ve met a lot of amazing people who have helped me build this business and provide bettors with what they truly want. I am extremely grateful for them and hope to cross paths with each one of them again in the future.

I have a small but highly intelligent team who believe in the vision and in me. Fast forward to 2024, I am now 26, and we’re currently raising $2 million to launch our platform. We’re just getting started but have so many features lined up for bettors. Beat The Odds is here to innovate the industry and bring a new meaning to beating the odds.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This has definitely NOT been a smooth road. Some of the struggles I’ve faced involved not even knowing where to begin as a fantasy sports company. With no mentor or prior knowledge, I had to teach myself everything, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I’ve also had moments of fear, especially about competing with billionaires in a well-established industry. Keeping quiet about my business until I filed my patents didn’t make things easier, either. Additionally, needing significant financial backing to start a fantasy sports company is far from the ideal way to build a company from the ground up.

We’ve been impressed with Beat The Odds, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Beat The Odds, we’re building a next-generation fantasy sports betting platform designed to redefine how fans engage with their favorite sports. Our platform specializes in offering unique and user-friendly betting modes such as standard Player Props, 50/50 Betting where friends can bet together and split the winnings, and Double Up for those looking to raise the stakes and amplify their rewards. Along with the game modes, we created a subscription based service that helps bettors. Some of the benefits of our membership is a free daily square, tickets to sporting events, discounts at partnered restaurants/bars based on a player’s performance, sports merch & many other features.

Unlike traditional sports betting platforms, we focus on simplicity, inclusivity, and innovation. For example, our PAM AI (Player Analysis Machine) will help users make smarter bets by providing actionable insights and performance analytics. Additionally, we’re bringing unique perks like Fantasy Football League Discounts, where players earn real-life discounts on player props based on their weekly performance in their league—giving them more than just bragging rights.

We are most proud of how we’re combining cutting-edge technology with a fan-first mentality. Our mission is to not only provide a platform for betting but to create a space where sports fans feel connected, rewarded, and empowered. We want to take the confusion and intimidation out of sports betting and make it accessible to everyone, from seasoned bettors to casual fans.

To the readers: Beat The Odds isn’t just about placing bets; it’s about creating an engaging and rewarding experience for sports enthusiasts. Whether you’re here to compete with friends, root for your favorite players, or try your luck, we’re building something that celebrates the passion of sports fans while offering exciting ways to win. With a strong focus on innovation and user experience, we’re striving to become the go-to platform for those who love sports, competition, and community.

Your wins are just the beginning. Can you, Beat The Odds?

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
God matters the most to me, without him I wouldn’t be where I am today. He keeps me grounded and focused. Along with my girlfriend, family and friends who have always been supporting me since the very beginning.
