Thanks for sharing your story with us Christian. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After an unsuccessful attempt at a traditional college, I felt lost; I didn’t know which direction my life was headed. I knew I was an artist but wasn’t sure what type of art was meant for me. As a child, I would play “salon” and style my cousins’ hair, and always enjoyed it, so I thought what the hell, maybe I should give the hair industry a shot.
The first few weeks of cosmetology school were not fun; I actually threw my doll head away more times than I can remember! One day, it finally clicked, I found my talent and passion–the rest is history!
Has it been a smooth road?
There have definitely been many struggles along the way. I grew up in a small town and experienced the challenges many gay youths know all too well. I was bullied, beat up, and ridiculed–which made it very difficult for me to accept who I truly am.
As time went on, I learned to appreciate what makes me unique and embrace it. I do not, however, hate the people who made my life hell because, without them, I wouldn’t be the man I am today, successful in my dream job in a city I love–Guess you could say the joke’s on them!

I am a hair colorist specializing in blondes. Clients and friends have dubbed me “The Blonding Queen”, and I wear it as a badge of honor.
In the four years, I’ve been in this business, I’m most proud of creating and launching my own brand that connects me with clients from not only all over Houston and Austin but Beaumont and Louisiana as well!
There is still a long road ahead, but I am confident that my eye for the most current trends, superior one-on-one customer service, and precise attention to detail sets me apart from the crowd–keeping my clients’ hair looking spicy and their confidence through the roof!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Of course! Houston is a huge, diverse city which is growing very rapidly, making it more competitive. If you can make it in this city as a hairstylist, you can make it anywhere.
