Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Gordon.
Christina, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I initially got my start in the photography business back in 2003 after my husband suggested that since a camera seems to be a permanent fixture in my hand anyways I may want to consider a career in it. I started out shooting with a Canon Rebel 35mm and a couple of kit lenses. After about a year, I took a long hiatus from the business so that I could focus on my family and only recently reemerged into the business world. Now that my children are all basically raised I am able to devote more of my attention to the third great love in my life, photography.
Has it been a smooth road?
I do things different than some and because of that it has made some things a little more difficult but I feel like challenges are something that EVERY business owner face when starting up. It takes time to figure out what works for your business and I am definitely no stranger there, if I’m being totally honest I’m still trying to figure some things out. The best advice I can give to anyone starting in this business, be prepared to fail, and then pick yourself back up and try again. I have had the hardest time with advertising, finding the right way to get out there, the right places to advertise to attract the right clients for me.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Christina Renee Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in wedding and portrait photography. My main goal is to make photography something affordable for people from all walks of life. I pride myself in the fact that customer service is my number one priority and because of this I treat every session the same regardless of what is or is not spent. My clients are more than just a job to me, I put time and effort in creating relationships with my clients that go beyond the session. I love being a part of someone’s family, watching two people become one, children growing, milestones made. This is the reason I do what I do.
