Christopher, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Our vision for the delivery of waste management services through the use of a valet occurred as the result of the personal experience of a partner. Though being charged a fee for trash disposal, he still had to walk more than 100 yards to the chute, which was usually filled to capacity. Even the pet area was ill kept. Curiosity soon led him to visit other communities across the Texas area, where he discovered that these practices were commonplace.
Further research revealed that more than 50% of the multi-family apartment communities did not receive proposed amenities. Discovering that residents were willing to pay for the amenities began the concept of King’s Valet. The company’s goal became delivery of high service with a Royal Touch.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Although breaking into the industry was tough in the beginning we then decided to add the Elvin Hayes to the King’s Valet partnership. Elvin is a 16 year NBA hall of famer with a proven sound business acumen. He has owned several successful businesses in the Houston and surrounding areas. Adding him to King’s Valet really gave us a boost as far as opening doors to new clients.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about King’s Valet – what should we know?
We are a waste management company that offers both valet door to door trash service and pet waste pickup/cleanup at a price point beneath all of our competitors. Included in our service is also recyclable pickup. We offer trash pickup either 5 or 7 days a week, with pet waste pickup being done 1 or 2 times weekly. This includes pickup of pet waste, replacement of pet waste bags and disinfecting the pet areas to eliminate disease.
We offer an $8.95 per unit per month pricing structure. We are not afraid to advertise our product or pricing because we know that our service is untouched.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Hard work and determination is the best characteristic to describe our success. We are determined to put our footprint on the valet door to door trash service.
