Today we’d like to introduce you to Clayton Hall.
Clayton, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Mobility Chiro Therapy started 2 years ago when my wife and I decided to move from Dallas to the woodlands. I wanted to create an evidence-based sports chiropractic facility focused on correcting the way our patients move.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s challenging starting a new business, especially in an area where you aren’t from and don’t have any connections. The area is saturated with sports medicine facilities and chiropractors, so distinguishing myself has been challenging. I’ve tried to focus on spending quality time with patients and not selling long-term treatment plans.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Mobility Chiro Therapy story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a chiropractor – I work on correcting movement patterns with my patients rather than simply focusing on pain. I use a variety of different techniques such as active release technique, dry needling, cupping, joint manipulations and corrective exercise with my patients. I rarely rely on passive modalities such as icing, muscle stimulation, and laser, as most current research shows they have little effect on long-term healing.
The thing I’m most proud of about our company is the relationships I’ve made with many of my patients. In the short 2 years, my wife and I have been here, we’ve been very accepted by the community.
Our practice is unique in that we have added the addition of a physical therapist, Kyle Suchma. A Doctor of physical therapy, who is a native to the Woodlands area. Kyle is able to provide the same treatments that I provide and perform physical therapy with patients, in a one on one setting.
Besides the one on one care with Kyle and myself, our clinic offers whole body cryotherapy and other recovery tools, to help facilitate the healing process. Whole body cryotherapy is unique and typically offered in a spa type setting, we feel that many people seek out the use of this when they are feeling some sort of discomfort and that often times it’s not the best treatment option for their ailment. Having it under the supervision of a medical professional is helpful.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The chiropractic industry is interesting as there are so many different types of doctors. People often think that all chiropractors are the same, which couldn’t be further than the truth. I think that in the next 10 years, you will see more chiropractors focusing on evidence-based treatments. Meaning, rather than focusing purely on adjusting the spine (popping back), they will focus more on correcting movement patterns and spending quality time with patients. I would never go to a doctor that only spend 2 minutes with me and asked me to come back multiple days a week for several weeks. With the rising cost in healthcare and the decreasing benefits, more and more people are willing to pay out of pocket for health care, if they are getting quality care with a provider instead of an assistant.
