Today we’d like to introduce you to Colette Davenport
Colette, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2008 I was diagnosed with a tumor on my 12th cranial nerve. Because surgery would cause paralysis of my tongue, I turned toward alternative therapies, in hopes of healing myself. I was most interested in approaches that considered the emotional and spiritual aspects of illness. What ended up happening over the next decade was beyond anything I could have imagined.
While I set out to fix what was wrong with my body, what I found was the dis-ease and dysfunction in my relationship with God. After the first few years of strictly following all the healing protocols, altering my entire life to achieve a single goal, the tumor grew larger and I grew more frustrated. It was like the harder I tried the less progress I made and the more powerless I felt. Eventually, I said to hell with it! and decided to just accept the lump protruding out from my neck.
It took a bit before I could look in the mirror and love everything about myself, including the obvious flaw. Maybe you can relate?
At that point I turned my attention toward sharing my experience, what I learned, where I failed, and being completely open with my journey of self-discovery. Funny enough, I was also working as an intimacy coach helping my clients connect on a deeper level while I was being guided to connect with myself and God on the deepest level there is. So I shared that, too.
I can’t recall exactly what the turning point was that awakened me to what I had been seeking all those years, it was more of a gradual thing then like a clap of thunder, but I do remember one day in meditation simply realizing – I am healed.
I had the deep sense of oneness with God, where all is well and I am, too. There was no question, no doubt, just a knowing that there was nothing wrong with my body. Later I saw how all the pieces fit together and how I needed to experience that crisis and go on the journey seeking physical outcome in order to realize the deeper, underlying spiritual source of all life’s challenges. It took the better part of a decade, but I got it. It was never about my body, it was always about returning home to God and healing myself at a soul level so I could actually know what it’s like to have confidence that is not circumstantial.
From there, I shifted the focus of my coaching work to spiritual awakening. Today, I introduce a spiritual framework that presents possibilities beyond the limits of conventional thinking and problem solving. My clients experience a mystical awakening without religion or psychedelics and are able to reimagine and restructure their lives from a higher perspective. This leads to confidence that is not circumstantial, clarity that inspires calm enthusiasm for what’s to come, contentment that money can’t buy, and a deeply rooted sense of who you are.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Heck yes there were struggles. To return home, to truly know God, we must turn away from all that we think we know. Having my intelligence and ingenuity fail to solve my most critical problem was incredibly difficult to accept. I isolated myself, no longer feeling connected to the people in my life. I endured the loss of two relationship and two homes I loved. I woke many nights worried about how I was going to get through it all. I felt utterly powerlessness at times. But I stayed focused and put my faith in something I could not make sense of. You might say I surrendered, and after much time in silence and stillness, the revelation came. It’s through that revelation that I received the “instructions” on how to support the transformative journeys my clients are on.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I help super successful people discover their divinity. Because for all their achievements, wealth, and even their Tony Robbins-level personal development, it’s THE ONE THING they have not yet discovered. In other words, I guide my clients to a life of true confidence and contentment, deeply rooted in who they are.
The concept that my mission is founded on is that we cannot know true confidence and contentment within the widely-accepted “physical framework”, we must adopt the “spiritual framework” to truly be free. The “physical framework” is one in which everything is separate, solid and slow to change. Sounds familiar, right? That perspective makes God separate from everything, especially oneself.
The “spiritual framework” is one where God (consciousness) is omnipresent. All things exist in and are an expression of God/consciousness. The people, places and things we experience, including our bodies, appear physical based on the limits of the human mind. Our mind interprets God’s Infinite Being through the faculty of the five senses – sight, taste, touch, smell, and sound. My hypothesis is that if we want to live a life of clarity, confidence, and contentment, we must know the source of it all. We must understand consciousness, and when we do, we understand our true self.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
As a spiritual teacher, I am pleased to see the number of people “awakening” or going through the dark night of the soul on the way to that illumination. I suspect there will be even more of us teaching through our examples so the process of self-discovery can be facilitated in many different formats. Self-realization isn’t an easy path, but it is the most rewarding one to travel. My greatest hope is for all people to see clearly, with spiritual sight, the magnificence of life – including the challenges we encounter.
