Today we’d like to introduce you to Contreece Bullard.
Hi Contreece, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My love for real estate started when I was a child. I often found myself looking at magazines that centered around real estate. I loved looking at old home in the original finish, with no upgrades. I knew from a child that I wanted to become a real estate agent. When I finally embarked on my journey as a realtor. It was nothing but excitement for me.
My career began in Arkansas, with Keller Williams. Keller Williams gave me a foundation in real estate. They offered classes and training in almost anything. There was nothing that we could not learn or no scenario that was not talked about. I was happy with the decision to join the firm. I sold homes in Arkansas for about three years. We were coming out of a recession, and it was hard work at the time when it came to getting clients approved. The laws were changed for predatory lending. I loved it all. Working with buyers and sellers has been the best part of my real estate career. When you spend hours with clients and finding out what they desire in a new home, you partner with them to make their home buying transition as easy as possible. The relationship continues after they have moved in their new home. It’s the best part of the job, building long-lasting relationships.
My market now is the Houston market, I love how big the city is and there are countless opportunities for realtors. The market is a bit different now, because of higher interest rates and the cost of homes. I will say it is still a great time to buy. If you’re in search for a new home. I look forward to meeting new buyers and sellers daily. My goal is to help as many people as possible buy, sell, invest or build a new construction home. I take a complicated process and make it easy for my clients. I assist with movers, cleaning services, hosting home buying seminars, housewarming party, virtual appointments, channels, home stage services and concierge services.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road simply because real estate is up and down. In this new normal as I call it. We are seeing interest rates higher; rates have not been this high for over a decade. When that happens, some people wait before they purchase to see if the rates are going to go down. I was reading an article that stated, “Cost of typical house in U.S. tops $400,000 for the first time”. As a realtor we know what that means. For most Americans, they will not be able to afford a new home with higher interest rates and the cost of homes. We have to adjust to the market and make provisions where they are needed. When it comes to me, I try to market myself daily on social media, go to black-owned businesses and to host more home buying seminars to educate new first-time buyers. There is help out there with down payment assistance and help with closing costs. The educating piece of real estate is exciting to me. I love to help people, that is my gift from God. I love teaching and encouraging others.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about CR Elite Realty?
CR Elite Realty is a company ran by two women!! I would say that had a lot to do with me joining them. Both brokers are from Keller Williams. I am a realtor at my firm. My broker Janelle is a license instructor, and she has boot camps classes weekly. There is a wealth of knowledge at this firm. I specialize in listing homes, working with buyers, investors and building relationships with new home contractors. What sets me apart from my peers, is my willingness to go above and beyond to help my clients. I offer to pay for the housewarming party, I assist them with staging, if they need cleaning services and movers. I am proud to represent my firm and to be a part of the Houston Associates of Realtors. I want readers to know, if they need a realtor that will make the home buying process as simple as possible, they should call me. If they want someone that is willing to work with them on all aspects, then I am their person.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I would say I am not a risk taker in my real estate career. We have real estate laws that are in place. I have a fiduciary duty to represent my clients as a professional and I do my best to represent them without taking risks. I would say one risk I most recently took, was moving from Dallas to Houston! I was afraid to move with no friends and family, however, when God said go, I went.
I have been in Houston for three months and I love the city. I have met some wonderful people, and this will be my home. Some risks are necessary in life. Think about love, we risk it all for the person we love. When we do that, we’re not sure if the relationship will go the distance. But we take that risk of getting our hearts broken. Because we believe in love and in that person. I have taken that risk since I have been here. Taking a risk on love and a new city!!
