Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtneee Johnson.
Hi Courtneee, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey has been rooted in leadership, creativity, and service. I currently work as a middle school Special Education and English co-teacher, where I have the opportunity to impact students both academically and personally every day. Education has taught me patience, communication, adaptability, and the importance of creating meaningful connections with others. Alongside teaching, I also coach athletics, which has strengthened my passion for mentorship, teamwork, and helping young people grow both on and off the court.
Outside of education, I am also the CEO and co-owner of Pretty Little Parties, an event and party business built from creativity, vision, and hard work. What started as a passion for creating memorable experiences has grown into a business focused on elegant event setups, celebrations, and bringing people together. Balancing education, coaching, and entrepreneurship has shown me the value of discipline, consistency, and believing in yourself even while building something from the ground up. My story is still unfolding, but I’m proud of the impact I’m making in multiple spaces while continuing to grow personally and professionally.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges along my journey has been balancing multiple roles while still showing up fully in each space. As a teacher, coach, and entrepreneur, there were times when managing responsibilities, long hours, and self-doubt became overwhelming. Building a business from the ground up while working in education full-time required sacrifice, consistency, and learning how to push through difficult moments even when things didn’t always go as planned.
Another important part of my journey has been learning the value of partnership and support. My best friend and business partner, Kayla, and I have worked together to build Pretty Little Parties while navigating life, work, and entrepreneurship at the same time. Like any growing business, we faced challenges with balancing schedules, finances, gaining exposure, and building our brand, but those experiences helped us grow stronger both personally and professionally. Every obstacle has taught us resilience, teamwork, and the importance of believing in our vision even during challenging seasons.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently work as a middle school Special Education and English co-teacher while also coaching athletics. Outside of education, I am the CEO and co-owner of Pretty Little Parties alongside my best friend and business partner, Kayla. Together, we create elegant event experiences and continue growing our business through creativity, leadership, and passion for bringing people together.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is my faith in God, my family, and the relationships I build with others. Being able to encourage and positively impact my students every day gives me purpose and fulfillment. I truly enjoy creating connections, helping others grow, and making people feel supported both inside and outside the classroom.
