Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney and Jazmin Thomas.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
For a few years, we’ve sat on the idea of not only opening a restaurant but something different to the area. Once we started throwing out ideas, the cereal bar took off. We knew we had to bring creativity and serve various goods in order to pull in customers who think, “I can eat a bowl at home”. Sure, you can have your standard bowl of cereal at home, just as you can have a plate of eggs and waffles, but in order to step outside of your comfort zone, mix your cereal, add in toppings, add it onto ice cream, or even throw it into a blender and have a refreshing milkshake. We are constantly updating our menu, adding seasonal/regional cereal and treats to Taste Buds.
Has it been a smooth road?
Opening any business, in my opinion is never a smooth road. There are always obstacles that will try to get in the way. Covid-19 currently being one of them, has taught us a lot, not only about ourselves but also in our persistence. As the old saying goes, the only way past an obstacle is through it.

We are a cereal bar that serves not only the favorite cereal that everyone has grew up on but also new and seasonal cereal that comes once a year. You can come in have a regular bowl of cereal or mix a couple of cereals together or have one of our popular Taste Buds Creations including the favorite, “Campfire”. Soon we are going to release cereal from other countries and bring in cupcakes and cookies. Currently, we also serve milkshakes and Ice Cream Bowls. We are most proud of the fact that our company Taste Buds Cereal Bar, is our creation and through the ups and downs of being small business owners, we are consistent and not deterred by any and all obstacles. What sets Taste Buds Cereal Bar apart from others is the fact that not only are we local and the first of its kind in the area, but we strive to make our customer’s experience and service particular and beyond their expectations when they arrive.
