Today we’d like to introduce you to Creme Truck.
Hi Creme, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. The “Bricks” helped shape me into the person I am today. It’s a place where you learn to hustle and push yourself to be the best.
A lot of people don’t know that I’m a restaurant kid. My mom owned a Caribbean restaurant for more than 10 years, and after school, I’d head straight there to help out. My love for food started with her. Watching her chase her dream of opening a restaurant showed me that anything is possible with hard work and determination. Seeing her cook, learning her recipes, and experiencing the love she poured into every dish made me fall in love with food, family, and culture.
My father played an equally important role. He made sure I experienced food from all over the world by bringing home dishes from different cultures. Growing up in New Jersey made that easy. On one block, you could find a Chinese restaurant, an Indian restaurant, an African restaurant, a Soul food spot, a Haitian restaurant, a Jamaican restaurant, a Mediterranean restaurant, and a bodega serving Puerto Rican food all just steps away from one another. That diversity opened my eyes to how food connects people.
I went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and the lessons I learned growing up helped me build a successful career. Business gave me the opportunity to travel, and with every trip, I explored food from a completely different perspective.
That’s when I started recording myself cooking, trying new restaurants, and sharing those experiences online.
People connected with my personality, my passion for food, and the fact that I always kept it real.
Most people know me as Tacreme. “Ta” comes from my first name, and “Creme” is inspired by the phrase crème de la crème. Which means the very best of the best. That mindset became the foundation for Creme Truck, a brand built around traveling the world in search of the very best in food, culture, and style.
What started as sharing my passion quickly grew into something much bigger. Today, Creme Truck represents my journey, my roots, and my mission to connect people through unforgettable food and authentic experiences.
A couple of years ago, I moved to Houston, and it felt like home in a different way. I found the same energy and appreciation for culture that I grew up around in New Jersey. Houston’s food scene is unlike anywhere else. Every meal has a story, every neighborhood has its own flavor, and every culture is represented. It reignited my passion for discovering hidden gems and sharing those experiences with others.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some of the struggles along the way is staying authentic. In a world where everyone is chasing trends and viral moments, I’ve always wanted to create content that’s true to who I am. I don’t recommend a place because it’s popular I recommend it because I genuinely enjoyed the experience. Building trust with my audience has always been more important than chasing views.
There’s also the pressure to constantly discover something new. People are always looking for the next hidden gem or the hottest restaurant, which means I’m always exploring, learning, and putting in the work to find places worth sharing.
At the end of the day, though, the challenges are worth it. Every time someone tells me they visited a restaurant because of one of my videos, or supported a local business, tried a new cuisine for the first time, or created a memory with family and friends because of a recommendation, it reminds me why I started. For me, it’s always been about bringing people together through food and culture.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I work for a great company that has given me the opportunity to travel extensively for business. Instead of just checking into a hotel and flying home, I used every trip as a chance to explore the local food scene. I found myself researching restaurants before meetings, asking locals where they ate, and experiencing each city through its cuisine. Those moments became the inspiration behind my content and reinforced my belief that food is one of the best ways to connect with people, culture, and community.
What matters most to you?
No matter where my journey takes me, family will always come first. Living in my purpose sharing food, culture, and experiences that bring people together is what fuels me. If I can inspire someone to try something new, support a local business, or create a special memory around a meal, then I’m doing exactly what I was meant to do.
