Meet Crysy Allyson of The Road to Freedom

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crysy Allyson.

Crysy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I began my journey making earrings…starting in about 2006. I started making earrings because I couldn’t find earrings big or funky enough- so I made my own. That blossomed into more accessories: bracelets, necklaces etc. As years passed, the business grew but I was still missing something. At one point, I decided to enter HCC’s fashion program and obtain my Image Consultant Certification. So begins the styling business- which I love. I absolutely love making transformations!

Over time, I went through(and am still going through) a personal transformation. My mental, spiritual and personal life was taking a 360!

Sadly, something was still missing! I was actually sitting thinking about this women’s empowerment event that I had been wanting to do for some years… I had no idea what to do, where it would be held, who would be involved. God actually spoke to me and said,”Do it. Don’t worry about any of that. Just do it” So, I did! I had let fear run my life for SO long, but God said move and I did. The way everything fell in place still gives me chills. My first event turned out way better than I imagined! I am now actually planning my 3rd annual.

Has it been a smooth road?
You know? Every answer isn’t always YES. Every email won’t get a reply. Some things are out of my budget. I will say that I am BLESSED. I get discouraged at times, fear rears its ugly head… but I keep pushing! I am thankful that I have connected with some wonderful people that serve as advisers and helpers from time to time… lol!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Road to Freedom – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The Road to Freedom is the name of my movement, I decided to create a community featuring a series of events, created to empower, inspire and encourage women from all walks of life. TRTF is dedicated to inspiring women of all ethnicities to walk into a life free from negativity, burdens, stinking thinking and brokenness. I inspire them to create new opportunities for themselves and those around them by encouraging creativity, confidence, empowerment and community.

I am known for my vision BOOK workshops. Instead of doing vision boards, I have created a workbook filled with goals, the steps needed to achieve them, some self-assessments and more personal things. I believe that it is an import that we not only see this vision for ourselves but we need to create steps as well as take action. It’s also very imperative that we work on ourselves from the inside out,

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Houston because it’s so diverse. There are so many people here… from all over, with different beliefs, thinking and practices. There is so much to learn, teach and share. To be so large of a city.. the TRAFFIC is what I like least!

There is not one place that you can go in Houston and there is no traffic… other than to SLEEP! Lol!
