Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Wark.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was golfing on a very warm, humid winter day and I thought to myself ” If it’s miserable now, what will it feel like this summer” At that moment, I visualized a fan blowing on me from the Golf Cart cup holder. Later that day I went online to order a fan and one did exist!
The only fan that you could purchase had to be wired into the battery compartment in a golf cart. There was NO WAY my Country Club or any Golf Course would allow a person to do this!!! I really wanted and needed a fan! My performance as a golfer was hindered by the fact that I was more focused on my discomfort than the game.
I talked to my husband Rick and he was very supportive by my idea to create a Fan. As we fast forward 3 years later, I received a Patent. I have a utility patent on a Fan that fits in a cupholder. I also design a Patent which covers a Sports Ball theme. The motor housing could be a Football, Soccer Ball, Baseball, etc.
During this process, I had a Prototype made which turned out to be my first product The PGF (Personal Golf Fan).
One day, I was watching a TV show and they talked about the many ways you can get your product in front of consumers. I went online and googled and found a contest that was being held at the PGA show in Orlando FL.
This show had posted a contest and I entered it. It was so exciting being around other inventors and seeing their products. I never imagined I would win but I did. First time in my life! I won the Pinnacle Award which was the highest award given! At this moment, I knew I had a product that people wanted. I started selling the PGF that summer. I had placed an Ad in Golf Mag and a few local magazines which brought consumers to my very first website.
Several years have passed now and what I really wanted was to use my Fan in other cup holders. I was an avid runner and hated being hot as I pounded the miles on my treadmill. I know my performance was at its best when
I was cool and comfortable. I also hated sitting outside when the weather was hot and miserable. Sitting outside during ANY sporting event was NEVER ENJOYABLE!!!
As the letters from customers flowed in stating how they used their fan on their Yacht, in their car to keep their dogs cool, camping, poolside. ETC… I decided to now recreate the Fan. Changing the name to The PGF.
Personal Go Fan. This fan is now marketed to golfers, boaters, campers, inside usage as well as outdoors. I never set out to keep inventing but one day, as I was golfing and was getting a little annoyed that the girls I golfed with hogged the golf cart basket with their purse and other belongings. I came up with another idea.
I created the Personal Golf Tote. (It is patent pending) Simply pack your belongings into this tote and It hangs on either side of a golf cart rail. We logo them for Country Clubs and individuals with their names on it.
The third product I have invented and have a Patent is the Personal Tee Holder. This plastic golf ball has tees that you stick inside the holes and will loop on your bag for easy access.
I started selling the PGF that summer. Placing my first Ad in Golf Mag.
Expos, tradeshows.
Has it been a smooth road?
NOT A SMOOTH ROAD !!! If only it had been!!!
On a continuous basis, I have to find new suppliers. Many companies that I have dealt with have gone out of business.
The shipping company I used for 3 years did a bad job! They controlled my website and also shipped to me. Best thing I ever did was to gain control of my website and we ship from our on the facility.

My business is unique because of the products we sell. There is NOT another portable Fan out there so I have
Zero competition. The totes are selling very well and have become known in the golf industry as a unique tournament gift.
I am so proud of the excellent CUSTOMER SERVICE that my staff and I provide. I was a Flight Attendant for over 30 years and I pride myself on being kind to others and making people happy!!!
My fan has literally saved a person’s life as well as keeping senior citizens active as they can stay cool while golfing.
That makes me very happy!!! My father as he was undergoing Chemo could not Golf without the PGF!

I really like the friendly people! Houston is forever growing and there is always something going on!!!
