Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Simmons.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started pressure washing in 2005 to earn money for my wedding while I worked at Red Lobster and attended the University of Houston. Now we have 4 full time employees and I have an MBA from the University of Houston Victoria.
Has it been a smooth road?
Most of the growth spurts we have had were from necessity – not something I planned to do. As an example, my family and I went to Washington DC in the summer of 2014 so I was away from the business for almost 3 months and had to focus only on managerial aspects while I had my (well trained) technician handle all the work here.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Pressure Washing America – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I have an undergrad degree in advertising and my minor was marketing. When I entered the industry, I knew I could lead the way with internet marketing back in 2006 when almost nobody was doing it effectively. I knew I could be the best in the area at that and just had to learn how to clean watching a lot of YouTube videos, practicing, reading professional forums and a little on the job training.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Houston is a beautiful city with lots of beautiful homes and I really get satisfaction out of helping the homes here look their best. The industry is over regulated. We aren’t allowed to legally let water go down the storm drains, even when we are just using water alone to clean dirt and mildew that are in the water already. It really makes no sense and makes following the law very expensive – as a result there are too many dirty parking lots and buildings because the cost to clean them and follow the law is too high for many property owners to justify.
Pricing:
- Most houses are between $200 and $350 to clean
- Most driveways are between $150 and $300 to clean
