Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Cole.
Danielle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well, I’m originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. I moved to Houston five years ago. Doing nails was something that I had been doing back in Hawaii and I brought my skill with me to Houston. The Houston nail scene is rather diverse but I felt like it was missing something, so I felt like why not try to fill that void.
Before working for myself and doing the whole mobile thing, I worked in a few very well known very salons and spas within the city. I made a lot of friends and business contacts and it was at that point that I was like… I’m ready to work for myself. The rest is history!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been easy… I remember wanting to give up because at first things were very slow. I really had to work to get my name out and promote for myself. Working in the salon all of the major work is already done for you, but with having my own business I had to be my own voice. I had to stick firm to what I wanted my business to be and really go after what it was I wanted.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Natural Nail Slayer – what should we know?
The Natural Nail Slayer is really about natural nails. My first love is and will always be natural nails. Wild, artful nails are great, but when it’s all said and done how’s the health of your nails? Nail health speaks volumes about the person’s overall health. It’s not something to be taken lightly. If you were to ask anyone of my clients most people would say I’m actually known for my pedicures! I take a lot of time when it comes to them. I have a wide array of clients from children all the way to geriatric patients. I love how a really good pedicure just transforms the feet. Everything isn’t always glamorous when it comes to doing nails but I’m ok with that. I love a challenge!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
More than anything I would say it’s my personality! I’m an island girl, so I bring that very laid back chilled out vibe with me everywhere I go. That’s really who I am and I don’t know any other way to be.
