Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Wicks.
Danielle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My child’s father and I have not had a moment alone since our son was born. I had decided to do something very special for him and us to reconnect. As I perused the sites of Houston’s entertainment life, I could not find exactly what I had in mind. I, then decided to put together what I had envisioned. Which was a nice intimate picnic for two, at the place where we had walked and talked on our first date. The idea was to carve out memories to remember when we were stressed with the baby. I called in a few favors and had the ideal romantic picnic at Oyster Creek in Sugar Land, Texas. I pulled it off, and it was a success with him.
As the days pass, I had such thoughts of wanting to share such memories with other couples, and to bring back the old-fashioned picnics we use to have when we were young with our families. Hence Exquisite Picnics coming to fruition. What makes me different from the other companies, is the fact that I put the extra love and attention into each picnic, that others are not able to. I make their dreams and visions come to life. This is why after each couple or family picnic that we create, we send them a thank you for allowing us to help make their memories.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Oh, my nothing about this road has been smooth. But everything was worth it. It taught me somethings along the way. The memories were still made, so it ended up turning out alright. Putting together the right picnic was very stressful, especially when many couples could not wait for the proper two days heads up, to have it. The stress itself was bad when I factor in my young child and my relationship. But with the awesome team I have, my dreams of making this company successful is happening before my very eyes. I have had many hiccups along the way such as trying to pull off a huge family picnic in less than two days; or a couple destroy our lovely decorations and table when her and her husband had a very heated argument concerning another woman. We have had beautiful proposals go awry when it decides to include rain on a very wonderful evening. She said yes, and they still enjoyed their evening despite the unexpected rainfall. Like I previously stated, despite the many hiccups we came across, we have learned many lessons that improved the visions I have for Exquisite Picnics.
Exquisite Picnic – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Exquisite Picnics is pretty much exactly what its namesake says. We specialize in exquisite picnics for all sizes and tastes. Such as, we do barbecue picnics, intimate picnics for two, large family picnics for family reunions, double dating picnics, kids picnic parties, and/or whatever idea or vision the client would like to come to life to make memories. We were just commissioned by Sugar Land to do a huge picnic for the township/several businesses. We are currently ironing out several last-minute details. There are many things that makes us stand out from other companies. Exquisite Picnics adds that extra love and attention that is not able to be done by other companies. We are able to build any picnic from a dream or vision that our clients want to see. We provide long lasting memories for years to come. All of our clients leave away very happy and satisfied. At the end of each picnic we send thank you cards to our clients. Thanking them for letting us make their love and dreams into wonderful memories.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Honestly that question is very loaded and a double-edged sword. In one way, yes i would have. I would have done many things differently. Would not have made the same mistakes. Not have associated with certain people and vendors. Then on the other hand, I would not have changed anything. I have learned some very wonderful and meaningful things along the way. About me, people around me, and what’s best for my company.
