Meet Danny Gonzalez of Tortoni Ristorante Italiano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Gonzalez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Danny. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After I have spent 27 years in the broadcasting industry my gut feeling told me that time was up, then since I’ve always enjoyed good food, eating it or preparing it the transition was easy.

4 years ago I decided to start an Argentinean steakhouse that will resemble the true mining of the Argentinean culinary culture. Patagonia Grill was born and immediately we caught the attention of the great demographic clients of Memorial neighborhood. I started that business with a partner and after 2 and half years into the business an investor friend of my business partner came along with an offer to invest into the restaurant and be a partner of my partner and once they agree on my selling price I decided to open an Italian Restaurant next to it.

That is how Tortni was born, my Italian Sicilian background helps a lot to prepare and excellent Italian traditional menu.

Has it been a smooth road?
Never is a smooth road when you open up a new restaurant.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Tortoni Ristorante Italiano – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Tortoni Ristorante Italiano is an authentic Neapolitan style restaurant, the service we provide is second to none, the personal attention of our clientele is very personal, we recognized our clients by name and we know we make a difference with that. Our specialty food is considered by our patrons to be the best in Houston even though the vast majority has traveled to Italy and dined in the best restaurants.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Our city is diverse culturally and that is the big change for Houston in the last 20 years, you can find anything in the space city, great restaurants, vivacious nightlife, and entertainment. The least that I like is the torching heat from July to August.
