Meet David Hassid of Hassid Dental in Upper Kirby and River Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Hassid.

David, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have had this dental practice since December of 2012. After dental school I did a General Practice Residency where I gained a lot of experience in a hospital/emergency environment. I worked in a few offices, as an associate, before deciding that I was ready to go out on my own. It is very rewarding and challenging having a practice. We truly are patient focused and continuously strive to help and please everyone coming in to the office. Building this type of mindset among the staff takes a lot of time and effort but it is crucial.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It is probably impossible to make every patient who walks through the door completely happy, 100% of the time. This can be frustrating just because I know how much effort the office puts into pleasing our patients. I have also learned that the staff/office team can and will change- because they go back to school, have a career change or move from the area. Especially having such a small office, it can be taxing to have a staff member leave and have to go through the process of finding a replacement and teaching and trusting them.

Hassid Dental – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a general dentist and we are a family practice. We do procedures ranging from dental implants to Invisalign. I believe we are a comprehensive office and if there is something we cannot do here we work with a great group of specialists in the area. I am most proud of our patients’ response to the care they receive from every staff member. Whether it be a review or a comment at the office I am very pleased with the positive feedback we get. We want to keep the office small and personable so we will always be able to care for patients the way we have been since day one. We are not looking to bring on associates or open multiple locations. Also, I don’t believe I have ever turned down seeing an emergency- whether the individual is an existing patient or not.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My definition of success is the following:

1) Leaving the office pleased because we helped a patient(s)/a patient came in with a problem and we solved it
2) Seeing my staff happy
3) Being able to enjoy life outside of the office because of the good work that we do here at the office
